Nice riding.
I didn't think the brakes were bad on the one I rode, but I didn't have to stop from very high speed either. The thing that bugged me about it was the dramatic fork dive. Rode a Breakout just after and it didn't do that.
Seemed like it took a long time between twisting the throttle and taking off from idle too.
Definitely was a comfy and nice handling bike, but I agree with your conclusion. Painting it up to look like something found in a dilapidated barn was none too kewl.
how can you review a HD and not insert a single engine sound recording?!
Ответить"Lighter and stiffier"
Fnarrr
foot per pound?
ОтветитьBig and beefy................. oh i say 😉
ОтветитьIt is a Harley this bike will sell well and it is a great improvement from earlier models. Anyway JMO....HD rider since the 60sssss
ОтветитьStop doing these videos as if its an A-level project. Bring some flair into it! You all know your biking stuff just get a proper videographer to make your videos.
ОтветитьThese reviews are a little awkward. It feels like someone is reading their homework out loud in a classroom. Including the section titles! It creates a feeling that’s unnatural, and that doesn’t work well in video format. Check the Revzilla reviews for a great example of engaging biker video content with a high production standard, which I think is what you guys are going for here. Also, don’t you have folks with Harley experience on your team do these reviews? This is not a heavy bike by Harley standards, and no Harley buyer is going to miss traction control.
ОтветитьYou guys really need to watch some Fortnine or Revzilla reviews. No one cares about a read-out spec sheet. Please entertain us and bring your personality into the reviews.
ОтветитьWhat kind of experienced rider needs traction control on a Harley, or any bike for that matter? It's like an electric knife carving a turkey. It's nice and all, but if the power goes out, you better know how to carve without it.
ОтветитьI am in the market to purchase a new bike. I love all of the HD line up and have test driven several of them. It's the $$$ that is killing it for me tho. I went over to Indian for the first time ever and I could not believe how much cheaper the price was. I mean like $6,000.00 cheaper on some models. I don't want to have to pay a car price for a motorcycle which is why I am leaning towards Indian. Would like to see some of your reviews on them when you get a chance. Thanks!
ОтветитьSwoon.....Bike’s not half bad either!
ОтветитьSome of the info in this video is straight wrong, like mpg! The website and every other demo video I’ve seen says this bike gets 47 mpg, as opposed to the 42 you disclosed. That’s kind of a big deal eh mate?! Lol.....Also the first person I’ve heard complain about the length of the brake pedal or the brakes in general. Perhaps the English should stick to rating their English bikes?!?!
ОтветитьI do like your honest reviews
ОтветитьThe new engine in Harley-Davidson motorcycles is top notch and long overdue, but my huge question is why the hell is Harley Davidson still using a chain primary drive system?
I mean really, a chain drive primary on a totally new engine in 2017/2018 over a gear drive primary?
What an awful review. Sounds like the reviewer is bored and reading a script for the first time. And ‘not at all cool’ is pretty childish and totally subjective comment to wrap up with. I’m not a die-hard Harley fan defending the brand, but come on, if anyone is looking at the review of this bike, it’s probably because they ARE interested in it and DO think it’s cool, so stick to the facts, eh? Sick of ‘Harley haters’ reviewing bikes they clearly have no intention of ‘liking’. It’s kinda amateurish.
ОтветитьI test rode and bought the 2018 Heritage Softail. Loving it.
I owned a dozen bikes and this is my fourth Harley in the last 43 years. It's a good bike.
"Ultimately it is not at all cool", and you talk about Harley attempting to appeal to a younger demographic. I take it then you speak for the entirety of the younger demographic. Maybe you speak for the younger demographic in England but not in the United States. You haven't got a clue as to what the younger demographic is thinking across the US especially here in the American West where a wind screen comes in handy when tumbleweeds are coming at you in a howling wind. A bit of advice why not prefix your remarks with something like "in my opinion". You would come across as much less pretentious and smug. In your shoes I'd watch someone like Matt Laidlaw who often uses, "in my opinion." Also if you think the Heritage is a heavy bike then check out my 2017 CVO Street Glide at 867 lbs dry.
ОтветитьI guess it’s been a long time! What on earth is “traction control”. And what makes the bike heavy over there? Thanks.
ОтветитьYummy yummy yummy, YUMMY!
ОтветитьI love the bike just 2 or 3k too expensive. I'll wait for a used around around 15k or so
ОтветитьWhy is a woman from Europe giving her fucking opinion about an American legend? Screw her
ОтветитьI just bought one of these Saturday in the wicked red, and I absolutely love it! Thanks for the review! Liked and subbed!
ОтветитьAll these young Millennial kids who need traction control and other electronic miracles to be in their “safe space” makes me laugh . Learn how to ride please. Oh and the Heritage is the definition of cool....shit review.
ОтветитьAbsolutely no exaggeration. after 15 min of riding this model, i was glad the ride was over. Due to he vibrations, from my knee down to the feet, i thought my bones will disintegrate. i am sure I would not last a full hour on it. All the rest of the aspects of the bike are an absolute dream. from the seat, the ergonomics, how it looks and feels, everything was amazing.
I've heard many complain about Harley's engines, I thought everyone else was exaggerating. Or perhaps they were used to UGMs that had little to no vibrations. I've only ridden single cylinder thumpers so i am used to that kind of thing, i even believe it geves it charracter. But the level so shaking the Heritage had, and how my legs felt afterwards, ... NO. As much as i love the bike and want to buy it.. no... It prompted the question, what if money was not an issue, or even if it was for free... still No! :((
I question how a "new" motorcycle (nothing like the original) is marketed as a classic? Why would anyone want a new bike that weighs almost double the original. Most car manufacturers are curbing weight yet, Harley continues to produce outdated bikes with over the top electronics such as electronic throttle and add weight everywhere. Shouldn't they offer a more modern line-up as well? How about the V-Rod engine being used in the touring bikes. Back when the Twin Cam was new, I was part of a demo ride crew and I received many a complaint about the heat that comes off that engine and anyone that took a demo ride on the V-Rod asked why the engine was not an option for the touring bike due to the power, smoothness, sound and lack of heat. Talk about screwing up a free lunch, only Harley has that capability. As the average age of a purchaser of a new Harley increases each year, Harley continues to produce behemoths and totally avoid the entry level rider. Maybe they should market a Sportster for women (yes, they took a classic hot rod and demoted it to an entry level woman's bike). They cannot handle success and every niche they purchase, such as Aermacchi or MV Agusta, they screw up. Too many execs use Harley as their cash cow. Time for them to pull out their heads and let sunlight descend upon them. Better yet, they should take a long walk on a short pier.
ОтветитьThe Heritage Classic is just that. Old School Cool with some modern Tweaks! It is for the older riders or someone who appreciates styling from yesteryears past.
ОтветитьPeople who review bikes act like they want a motorcycle to drive itself. Dislikes are spoken on like items were designed wrong.
One main thing I think Harley-Davidson should add is liquid cooling on all touring models to cool those motors down. Secondly they can eliminate the chain primary drive.
For me it‘s a very cool tool. Ok, even though I‘ve left my twenties I actually prefer the Low Rider or the Low Rider S. Nevertheless the Heritage is a great versatile bike. It all depends on purpose and life style. Harley Davidson has more great things in store for you. Make your choice.
ОтветитьSpeak for yourseleIf. love the studded bags and seat!
ОтветитьEven living in curvy hilly WV I find the single front disc on my 2019 Heritage Classic to have good stopping power. I feel double discs to be somewhat overrated. Are riders afraid to downshift if necessary?
ОтветитьHonest review - I appreciate that. Many are talking about the handling and weight.
ОтветитьI bought a new 2019, cool to me…I’m 36
ОтветитьNot cool? Ì feel a trip to the opticians is in order for you.
ОтветитьCool is riding a bike that you want and not caring what people think!
ОтветитьEvery time I watch an HD video those 1%’r videos start popping up and I’m reminded of why I would never buy one, which is a shame because this is a pretty bike.
ОтветитьI test rode the 2022 Heritage and just loved it. I traded in my 2017 Street Glide sp. I'm very happy with this bike. Us older guys would rather have a stylish lighter touring bike for shorter trips. We seem to still have all the money to spend on new bikes and Harley knows it. I'm 69 and haven't decided to quit riding yet. I've been around bikes my entire life and will have one until I die. Harley's are the most beautiful bikes on the market.
ОтветитьLetting someone review a bike that doesn't have all the tech theyre so used to and it blows their mind when a bike doesn't have it - you'd possibly have been better on a KTM Super Duke with all the tech riders today see as standard equipment. Personally in my decades of riding bikes ive never even had a radiator on one let alone ABS, Traction Control, or any other techy bits. Each to their own and im not saying the tech isnt great, because of course it is, but its not necessary
