Flew the HH-43 by Kaman a LONG time ago (63-67). The KMax has been used in logging and the Marines tested it in Afgan. as a pilotless platform for delivery of sling loads.
The HH-43B/F was used in VN for rescue starting in 1964.

I watched one of these logging on the Olympic peninsula , port angeles wa. Years ago, amazing machines!! They are fast and lift alot.
