Hellraiser scenes similar
ОтветитьDanse Macabre on the soundtrack. Excellent.
ОтветитьFilmed entirely in The Bronx NYC
Ответитьwhy is it always this damn song its everywhere
ОтветитьWhen Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein, aristocrats still wore powdered wigs and stockings. And yet this movie is closer in time to Shelley writing Frankenstein than it is to us.
ОтветитьThank you for saving this part of History. I've been looking for this clip for 15 years p. Thank you for your hard work
ОтветитьOutstanding!
ОтветитьI like this version.
ОтветитьCreature being destroyed by fire at end was reversed to being created by fire at beginning.
ОтветитьDamn came out before the Titanic sank
ОтветитьPublic domain !
ОтветитьThanks.
ОтветитьTo put this in perspective they hadn't even finished building the Titanic when this came out
ОтветитьI love this because its more accurate (probably the most accurate) to the book. There are some things that are not exact, like the monster being evil upon creation, but its still very good. I would like to see a modern, book accurate movie some day.
ОтветитьGood rendition
Ответитьwonderful!
ОтветитьWatching world's first horror film in 2024, where the world of cinematography has reached today !! Without these innovators it would have been impossible. This is not just a silent movie. It's mankind's heritage in visual anthropology. Silent movies have their own charm. 1910 was exciting for Halley's comet too and slowly technology was taking off...cars, flights, ships
ОтветитьThis footage was lost but than found again

ОтветитьBravo!! Outstanding. The glory that was Hollywood. Ax
ОтветитьCan someone explain the end of the film? Is the message supposed to be the real evil was Dr F, and not the monster he created? Anyway, it was certainly “liberal adaptation“ of the book, as promised.
ОтветитьMaybe one day AI would be able to restore this to some extent.
ОтветитьIn this adaptation, Frankenstein Monster's, though indeed created through chemistry, was more of a reflection of the hatred for humanity that laid inside of Victor. It can implied that during the monster's creation process, supernatural forces also joined in the mix due to Victor's state of mind, which can be deduced that it was at it's worst, due to him relentlessly trying to find the "formula of life" during the past 2 years, (very probably) in secret. In the end, Victor found true love, in the form of his marriage with Elizabeth, which was more than enough to make the hatred inside of Victor's mind to disappear, including the Monster itself, when it finally looked at the mirror in disgust, because only then the Monster realized who he truly was.
ОтветитьLotsa 4th wall breaking in these films. Very theatrical, played directly to an audience. The looking into the camera and basically saying “Did you see that?” kinda stuff. The infancy of movies
ОтветитьBrilliant
ОтветитьMy grandparents were born in 1910, so as the great first moving pictures were born, maybe even a little earlier. ❤❤❤😊😊😊
ОтветитьMan… that monster is pretty terrifying.
ОтветитьCan't they digitally clean this up?
ОтветитьFirst of all, this seems less like Frankenstein and more like Ratatouille.
Secondly, it's obvious that attention to script details wouldn't become a thing for another 20 years after this; otherwise, we would've gotten a better sense of what turned Dr. Frankenstein "evil" in the first place.
Who's watching this in 2024
Ответитьフランケンシュタインの最初の映画
ОтветитьI dont know why classic movie like this seems creepy for me. But its trully legend, Frankenstein
ОтветитьI winder when movies started to get longer. 1925's Phantom of the Opera is 90 minutes. 1924's GREED was 2 hours 20 after being cut from 4 and a half hours!
ОтветитьWell at least in this version he didnt kill Elisabeth.
ОтветитьLove that it opens with "Dance macabre"
ОтветитьMight have been interesting to see the original inter-titles. Subtitles could have been added if they were too blurry to read.
ОтветитьFu k that music terrified me when it came in
ОтветитьSo it was all a dream....
Ответить2025 🖤
ОтветитьMuito foda
Ответить2025
ОтветитьHonestly, really enjoyed. The mirror scene itself and the way they used the mirror feels super ahead of its time. Now I must watch some other 1910 movies to compare.
ОтветитьI like the ending. Dr Drankenstien sees himself finally as the true monster in the mirror.
ОтветитьOnly us 1910 kids remember how hard this hit when it came out
ОтветитьIs that Gene Simmons?
ОтветитьWell that was different.
Ответить2025 😂
ОтветитьI didn't understood the ending?😅
