STOLAS DID EVERYTHING WRONG - Stolitz Analysis

This sounds... Weird... I am little bit talking from my own experience, but people don't tend to listen to the partner especially in the beginning, everyone has their own idea about how it should look like and they kinda try to force it "project it" on each other... I know that for example from my past experience I was either too much or too little and deffo got confused on whole being careful thing BC I am doing it on one hand, however on the other I can scream into the world that I love the person, but I am not good at being careful, but when I try it they get frustrated that I don't do this or that... The beginnings are technically blending energies and trying to pull each other head out of our a*ses... And on that note, given Stolas his life, no he didn't do anything wrong neither Blitz actually in that weird extremely hard stage they grew togheter and the best part is that they didn't give up on each other and I hope they never will, BC it is fairly tail and it should have nice ending if the world is b. But also don't have to, it is not my creation to decide what to do with it... I will be liking and enjoying either way

the worst thing imo is that this is actually a super interesting premise for a dynamic but instead the show refuses to do anything with the nuance that's there and just tries to convince you that it doesn't matter because stolas is, what, kind of nice sometimes?

I love the hazbinverse, it had some nice settings, cool character designs, and interesting hell setup with the demon classes.

I feel like your so close to understanding them but you rather blame one other the other while using it being Both their fault as a defense you are hiding behind si you don’t get hate since 50% of these video is just blaming one person while you don’t even touch on the others action. Since your main point of how the night would have gone better is “leave the book at home” something you proof at the start couldn’t happen since he needs the book back to do his job and giving him the crystal would mean he doesn’t need the book something that represents their deal. And you bearly touch on bitzo unless you’re using his feeling and actions as proof to why it’s not his fault. But ofc you already know you come off that way or the video wouldnt start with you explaining both or then then once you get the fullmoon it just becomes one sided

i find it funny when stolas was ready to have himself executed for sake of his boyfriend without thinking even a split second abt his daughter and how seeing him die would traumatize her forever

The way i understood the full moon episode was that Stolas took Blitz’s “easy” way to intimacy and Blitz panicked because he needs it and doesn’t know how love even works!

I know the story Stolas and Blitzo's romance is supposed to represent, that last contract puts it right on the nose. But looking at the structure of the plot a better ending to their romance would have been a dissolution. Stolas realizes his duty as parent choses to end things for the right reasons going back to raise and train his daughter, rather than keeping the extremely one sided toxic relationship with Blitzo. And he in turn could have explored his personal redemption through the Verosika, which was set up as the enemies to friends/lovers from the start but was forgotten immediately. I really hope they develop those relationships more in the next season, and yes like Magnus Stolas did Everything Wrong.

Omg, I'm so similar to Stolas (except the rich part) that I never noticed many things you said, so this was really painful to watch 😭

This is my take:

Stolas was trying to bond with Blitz° all this time, but he was ignored. First he thought it was just embarrassing for Blitz, because we can see trough the serie that love is something to be ashamed in he'll, just like sex is taboo for humans. So Stolas brushed off all Blitz°'s requests to don't be called by pet names, dates, meetings, etc. Then after Striker, Stolas started to think about the deal, so maybe Blitz°'s reactions were just a response for the power imbalance. So he decided to gave him the gift to choose. Here's the thing, if all this time Blitz° was trying his best to get the book, that would mean he never liked Stolas and he will live him. Nobody in his life ever loved him, why would Bligz° would? That's why he is panicking, he knows deep down he doesn't deserve to be loved and he's about to destroy the only happiness in his life. But he had hope that after all he may have his happy ending. So all this time he went so quick without heads up because he was expecting Blitz° to reject him. That's why he didn't planned the talk, he didn't wanted to hear how he was not loved, either everything was good and he got the fairytale live, or he would be alone again. So in the instant he noticed Blitz° was not happy nor reciprocate the feelings Stolas ran away, pain is so great he didn't wanted to be there, after all, if Blktz° o ly saw him as a tool for his business, then would be pathetic to let him see him crying. If you noticed Stolas was trying to avoid to look into his eyes. He didn't want to talk because to him there was nothing else to say... That's why he chose to take the book first, because he knew things won't tork out as he wished and he won't be able to recover the book. At the end Stolas just shut downs and wanted to leave to cry for his lost.

But on Blitz° side... The poor guy why sold by his father, everyone in his past hated him and left him, each time he does something everything explodes or gets fire. He has reason to believe he ruins everything and people never will even like him. That's why he doesn't engage with Stolas, he thinks Stolas is using him as a novelty and will get rid of Blitz° when Stoles gets bored. So when Stolas takes the book he panics, he thinks he messed it up again, he pleads for a second chance to shows he is worth it. He thinks Stolas only wants him for sex, so he doubles down on that. That's why he doesn't understand what's going on, he tried so hard to make Stolas happy and now he is just getting rid of him. That's why he gets mad, he thinks all his efforts were useless and he's not being recognized. It's not fair, that's why he start screaming, he's hurt so he kinda tries to hurt Stolas back, but not really, we know he could be really mean if he wants to. So him yelling "let's go" was a way if saying "I'm gonna prove you I'm worth it, you cannot treat me like nothing". In any moment he believed Stolas could love him, that's why he didn't took him seriously, just at the end when he is out of the palace he noticed everything was true and he messed it up again. He did nothing and still lost it all again, as always...

the last few episodes of S2 really made me dislike Stolas. It genuinely pisses me off that in Sinsmas he told Octavia he didn't have a choice when abandoning her when he absolutely did, and honestly I hope to christ they don't reconnect in season 3. He shouldn't be allowed to get a happy ending with her after putting her through so much BS

Finally, someone who gets it! I’m so tired of people hating on their ship and calling it toxic : it’s almost like that’s the whole point!! They’re both flawed individuals who are messily trying to get their shit together, but they also clearly care for each other very much. It was nice to watch your deep dive into their relationship. Their characters are so misunderstood, but I feel like you actually explained their thoughts and feelings so accurately. I still ship it too.

He's extremely flawed, like disgustingly flawed, borderline irredeemable.
That's why he's my favorite character. You see him reap what he fucks. Personally, I think he can rise from all his horrifying choices & mistakes.

Yet we're expected to coddle and love him 😔

I think the pills are mostly a joke and partially a way to show how Stolas was extremely under prepared for this night.

Just realized Stolas has no teeth

In the episode where they “break up” I didn’t even know what happened at first, I though that Stolas was just initiating the breakup and I did not know that he was asking Blitz if he wanted something more

I'm late to the party but this is literally one of the best breakdowns for all of Stolitz up until full moon. As you said, Stolas has every good intention but he keeps kneecapping himself at every opportunity because of who he is and how his upbringing affected him. He's super sensitive but cannot navigate his first real relationship at all because he doesn't listen to people. Blitz does not make it easy for people to love him so he is 100% contributing because Stolas would be struggling with even a less self-loathing partner. But this bird prince just cannot take 2 seconds to understand where other people are coming from, especially if it doesn't match his Soap Operas.

I love him to pieces and grant him every grace as I do for Blitz because they’re my little blorbos and I love them. But holy cow this covers exactly why that night could not have gone any different without someone to smack sense into Stolas and play idiot translator because these two cannot communicate effectively at all and so much of it is Stolas being incapable of changing gears or listening to others if his good intentions aren't recieved exactly according to his own plan.

I need to catch up on Helluva Boss, but dear God, these two idiots need a therapist and damage control. Charlie Morningstar could get through to them, maybe. Alas, they're going to have to stumble blindly through this together.

I guess character growth isn't a thing to people. Because it's obvious that Stolas has had a DRASTIC character growth between S1E1 & the most recent episode. So to act like he's been the same this entire time is nothing but bad faith. Intentionally bad faith at that.

a lot of Stolas' actions especially in early episodes make more sense when you remember he was supposed to be more of an antagonist and much more intentionally harmful and manipulative but they changed it cause so many people liked stolitz

The second season stolas who had good intentions and actually carred for blitz tbh is the best one i find whereas the season 1 stolas was fun but lacked some complex emotions acc to me he was all dependent upon his happy pills and all dealing with shits but treating blitz wrong season 2 had a lot of jump on his character which i think viv should have kept from the season 1 to the season 2 or atleast she should have made stolas look that ya he doesnt look down on blitz instead of making him call blitz his impish little plaything like wtf !!!?

Honestly Stolas reads as Autistic to me. I'm Autistic myself and have very similar struggles to him, minus for being rich and having the ability of sexual attraction. (I'm Aromantic-Asexual.) I just hope Stolas and Blitz have a better relationship with better communication as the series continues.
