Am in saigon and love watching this video. Did many times
ОтветитьScreenwriting is scary but I'm not afraid
ОтветитьYou're assessment of Collateral is wrong. It's not that he lacks courage, he lacks spontaneity. Did you actually watch this film? People pay you to learn screenwriting? Absurd. Apparently the jazz references went over your little head. He doesn't ask the woman out in the beginning. He thinks too much. He needs to learn to go with the flow. The mention of the I Ching is no accident. He has to learn to be in the moment. Improvise. He's a perfectionist. Vincent forces him to act without thinking. Duh.
ОтветитьThank you for such a platform, I have learned so much and it has fueled my excitement for this new venture I am undertaking. Edson's delivery is brilliant and insightful.
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьThank you to Mr. Eric Edson and @filmcourage for providing these valuable masterclasses for free this session really helped me as an amateur Screenwriter and Filmmaker to understand Screenplay writing .
ОтветитьAbsolute legend
ОтветитьGreaThanks
Ответить🗣💯
ОтветитьThis lecture gave me the confidence and confirmed that I did a lot of things
right in my very first novel. I look forward with less fear in making it a film.
brilliant
Ответитьdoes this apply to short films? I've never written anything before, just curious. Never written anything before to be honest. I'm thinking of Disney's paperman, or the other short Feast (2014) about the dog and food.
ОтветитьAHHHHH I was listening to this while washing dishes😡why did class end so early😭
ОтветитьCan't help but think that in trying to learn structure in order to ignore it purposely, one may get contaminated by the structure and as a result make something that only serves to amuse
ОтветитьHey, it'me
brilliant
That's called pure gold which people claim money for and Film Courage gave us cost free, hands off. Finally found a rael Master class not a podcast or conversation a genuine Master class with intense research and structured
ОтветитьA truly fascinating lecture given by a fascinating and knowledgeable man. It was moving to see Eric become emotional when describing Sandra Bullock's Gravity character. All-round brilliant.
ОтветитьCame here to listen to something interesting. Not disappointed because you get the insight and the ASMR.
ОтветитьThe attitude expressed, however ironically, by Croaky the Frog here is exactly why there are currently eight The Fast and The Furious movies. Movie executives really don't care about anyone or anything besides increasing their bank accounts, and audiences are pig-ignorant morons who wouldn't know a good thing if it smacked the beer out of their hand.
ОтветитьI'm watching screenwriting videos to hone my novel writing skills... you FilmCourage.. If I ever get published, you will definitely be in my acknowledgements.
ОтветитьLOVE YOUR TEACHING. Do not ever ever forget to tell the students to send copies to library of congress before even turning into a screenplay teacher. i say this because. . well. . .my movie was ripped off by an instructor, definitely. Went on to become famous, but but with a damn red-bow Hollywood ending--not the real one I could not write. i rewrite it now. . but that HERO is the new ADVERSARY. Yay!!
ОтветитьI watched this gentleman’s videos some time ago. Recently I revisited the notes I had made at that time as I am trying to write something, and I could almost hear his voice in my head, like the perfume of a memory. THAT is what I call ‘teaching’ 👏 And ‘teacher’- a brilliant, though completely unassuming gentleman.
Thank you, Mr Edson, you are an excellent teacher. I wish you the very best 😊
Eric has the same exact speaking style as Sapolsky
ОтветитьI resonated with this instantaneously, and writing this asking for someone to help me. Eloquently, structuring and delivering my idea with the only interest being the attempt to get everyone to calm down and appreciate the capability us as a people(human beans)have if we stop this arrogant, insecure, wining, sensationalist behaviour. With what I have confidence to say I've learnt in my short life so far.
ОтветитьFilm Courage is a fantastic resource for anyone in production .Whether an actor, director, cinemaphotographer, editor or writer. When I am writing, I always have one of their interview playing in the background. It is good company! Thank you again for a great upload.
ОтветитьDid I get this right, there were people in the auditorium who hadn’t watched the Matrix? And they were doing terminal degree in screenwriting??.
ОтветитьThis is awesome! Thanks
ОтветитьWarship was organic
ОтветитьEric thank you for this lecture. It's helping me as I am in the middle of writing my first screenplay.
ОтветитьThank you film courage.
ОтветитьThank you!
ОтветитьIt’s amazing how many references of movies I know, watched these movies lots of times when I had them on DVD
ОтветитьThe Matrix door number 303 is awesome! I never noticed that before. 303 is a reference to computer code 303 indicating that the browser should redirect to a new URL.
ОтветитьThem students do not watch movies
Ответитьloaning in depth ❤big love thanks
ОтветитьI find it fascinating that Tesla was obsessed with 3, 6, and 9 and here is yet another spot it shows up.
ОтветитьEric Edson is my screen writing Guru. Your lectures are excellent. Your book 'Story Solution' is always with me. I read and re-read whenever I have any questions in my mind regarding my screenplay. Thank you very much Eric Edson. 💐❤️
ОтветитьNow Ai is taking over. In 2-5 years, screenwriters will be obsolete.
Ответить💜🙏💜 thank you ! Great stuff!
ОтветитьHe's a great teacher. I wish I had taken his class when I was in film school.
ОтветитьThis is incredibly useful. Thank you
