In true ancient Javanese it's not just a weapon, it's rich art of philosophy. You can add gold, beautiful stone etc inside. You can make it stand up straight although it's asymmetric.
The way you put it on your body, as well as the way you remove the cover, has its own meaning in several ways.
You can see KUJANG from West Java Indonesia

ОтветитьNice blade but why are they striking with it like a medieval sword, it's a pure thrusting weapon 😭
ОтветитьThe original Javanese Kris is a stab and throw dagger. You cannot slice things using Kris. You stab your opponent and the poison in the blade will kill them.
Also, the test for Javanese Kris is to stand it upside-down. If the Kris can stand on its tip-point, then that's a perfect Kris.
a professional smith, very well done
ОтветитьThat’s impressive 👏🏻. Btw that’s sundang people will call it kris because the shape of the blade. Actually kris is knives and sundang is swords.

ОтветитьFor us Javanese people, the keris is not just a weapon but a sacred heirloom, the keris is not actually a slashing or cutting weapon but a stabbing weapon. Thank You
ОтветитьWE NEED STEVE VS BEN ABBOTT !!
ОтветитьIt is a very impressive thing to know that the world is starting to recognize our traditional weapons in Indonesia. The keris itself is used in several regions of Indonesia. such as Balinese, Javanese, Malay, Bugis or Sulawesi. In ancient times, we Indonesian people used the keris as a deadly stabbing weapon. The curved pattern caused quite serious injuries to the opponent. Apart from that, the keris also contains high philosophical meaning. Behind the making of the keris, the meaning and hopes of the maker for the buyer are also stored. usually manifested in a line pattern on a keris. We make keris usually not shiny. We make them have a natural color from iron which is jet and sturdy. That is one of the characteristics of keris. Apart from that, the keris also symbolizes the social status of its owner. The more complicated, rare, and many ornaments in the keris will show the high social status of the owner. Not infrequently keris are also associated with mystical things in Indonesia. I really appreciate the making of keris as shown. It is enough to make us Indonesian citizens feel proud. That our traditional weapons are also known to the world.
Peaceful greetings from Indonesia.
The keris is not only in Java, Indonesia, but also in Malaysia
ОтветитьIn fact, the keris is not a weapon for slashing, in ancient times the keris was used as a stabbing weapon which was only used to fight or stab someone we considered honorable or beloved
ОтветитьJavanese kris is not just a weapon, it is a status symbol, a symbol of wealth, position, power, magic, in every kris there is supernatural power, there is a ghostly spirit that becomes the power in it (good or sometimes evil spirits), for Javanese kris is a noble culture, the maker is an old blacksmith inwardly, not everyone can and not everyone is able,
inside the kris there is a pamor (prestige), which is different for each owner, in the past each kris was made specifically for each owner in a tailor made manner.
to increase the strength of the kris, the "empu" (blacksmith) added titanium metal taken from meteorites, this kris is often found still in its intact form even though it is buried hundreds of years in the ground.
in the kris the main thing is not the sharpness because the kris is a stabbing weapon, therefore the kris is made small, pointed in front and strong behind, in the past the kris was not too sharp but poisonous because it was coated with a certain poison powder, someone could die just because of a small wound caused by the kris.
in this video the keris seems to be taken for granted as a normal sharp weapon, we don't treat it that way in Java, too big to be used by the average small Javanese person.
so i think those are not kris ,at least in my humble opinion ,and in the futre i hope you guys put more a bit respect to our culture , thanks you ,
but if you call those are not kris it would be ok i think
always successful, I am very happy and proud to be able to see the Indonesian traditional keris weapon being known to the world, but there is a note that as a keris collector there are parts of the keris that are missing, secondly, the level of hardness or density of the iron should be harder than the bottom and middle parts so that The keris is more erodynamic when fighting like a Chinese sword. always be successful wherever you are
ОтветитьThose are not Javanese Kris blades. Those are Filipino/ Moro Kris swords. Javanese kris knives are thrusting weapons. I wonder why Doug didn't correct this very obvious error, since he is an FMA practitioner!
ОтветитьThat might be the best blade I've ever seen on this show
ОтветитьSteves one of the best they had on the show. Next to Ben and that kid (sorry cannot remember his name atm he went 7 wins in a row iirc) Should have an episode with those 3
Ответитьpls try kujang next time
ОтветитьSuch a beautiful blades masterpeace keris sword
ОтветитьKeris sengaja di buat ber luk dan tidak terlalu tajam serta di lapisi besi berkarat agar musuh merasakan sakit yang luar biasa
ОтветитьKris is using for stab not for slash, im indonesian
ОтветитьObanai Igoru:where’s my sword?!
ОтветитьSebenarnya keris lebih di gunakan untuk menusuk lawan dari belakang..

ОтветитьNot kris but KERIS
ОтветитьAwesome. I see "pamor" in that keris
ОтветитьThat's so cool, I never thought about using Keris for cutting objects, I always think it was more for some kind of ritual and symbol of leadership.
After reading on the internet, it turns out that keris was originally used as a second weapon (after sword), but over time it has now functionally transformed into a symbol of the owner's identity and philosophy.
Elek kabeh kerise
