Thank you, Tish. Because of your podcast I have knitted a few Musselbraugh hats and am finishing my first Oslo hat.
ОтветитьYour Armor jumper is absolutely gorgeous Tash! What a beautiful design! The colour you’ve chosen is perfect and I love the neckline. I’ll definitely have a look at the Ravelry group and will keep an eye out for the pattern release.
I totally agree that squishy garter is such a joy to knit. I’m making a baby jacket in garter and the squish factor is scrumptious!!!
Thanks for another fantastic episode. 😃🧶
You teased us with a math equation that would save us, and we didn’t get a maths lesson!? Have you thought about knitter math tutorials too? That would be fun and useful. Love your podcast. You always have great tips and suggestions so thank you for taking the time to share. Sincerely, Tania
ОтветитьI'd love to receive a math lesson from you. It's beneficial knowledge for knitting and it makes it go quicker when you know the tricks.
ОтветитьHi Tash, I love it when a notification comes up to say you have a new episode. I love your channel and am always inspired with your knitting. I’m copying you with the Stockholm slipover and also using scree colour. I’ve also sent for the Patina yarn from the wool factory and you even get a free pattern booklet matching the yarn. Your mams Sophie scarf looks so pretty. I live in the north east of England and usually order my yarn from wool warehouse so thank you for letting us know about the wool factory. I retired from nursing a few year ago so have a lot more free time than you seem to have but you manage to fit in so much. Thank you again. I also wondered if you have a Kofi account?
Ответитьthat armour jumper is looking great. i might have to get the pattern when I can.
I have one of those tie counters too and love it.
BTW I don’t do maths lol I get my daughter to when it’s needed. lol 😂😂😂😂
I love the speckles on the sweater ❤
ОтветитьThank you for another wonderful episode. Your Armor is so pretty and I'm loving how that slipover's looking, too! Have a lovely week and I hope you get some time to read as well as knit :-) - cheers!
ОтветитьI think the pink speckled No Frills Sweater looks fantastic on you — not at all too busy. It fits well and looks soft and beautiful. I understand YOU have to feel comfortable in it, but for my money it’s a great sweater and it’s great on you.
ОтветитьP.S. Love the Rocket Tee too!
ОтветитьI bought 1200m of a bulky yarn (alpaca and wool) 120m per 100g. Does anyone here in the comments have a suggestion for pullover pattern? Ravelry seems to lump 120m per 50 g as bulky but mine is 120m per 100!g… and super bulky is way beyond what I have!
ОтветитьLove your Oslo hat, you are looking so pritty in it !!!Hopefully you will make a video about a secret formula for counting stitches !? Math is not my strongest subject...just so curious!
ОтветитьTash, this is Carmen from the KandJPKKAL. I have to laugh, because I have a project that is virtually identical to your Friend from the Vault sweater(s). It was my first (& only!) project in speckled yarn, in a colorway called Blueberry Ice Cream, which I bought online and had more pink in it than I had expected. I used the Rock-It Tee pattern (without mohair striping), and I stopped in my tracks about 2/3 of the way through. I think that it looks fine, but it just does not fit my style (and I am also fair like you). It has been sitting in a bag for 2 yrs, and every now and then I mull it over. I thought of ripping it out and starting again with a solid mohair, but I don't think that mohair alone would tone it down enough. So, now I am contemplating holding it with another solid yarn (alpaca?) as well as a solid mohair lace to make up a heavier-gauge Terrazzo-type winter sweater. I've also thought of over-dyeing it, but I don't have any experience with wool dyes.
ОтветитьGreat projects as always ❤
ОтветитьBeautiful work and thank you for including such detailed notes in your Ravelry pages. I always find that so helpful! I also love the detail you've included about your test knit Armor sweater. I'm new to knitting sweaters and hearing you talk through the fit and when you plan to decrease vs when the pattern decreases is exactly the kind of thing I need to hear from more experienced knitters. Thank you!
ОтветитьIf you're short on yarn, you could always change color on the area of the hat that will be under the turned up edge with a compatible yarn, then switch back to your project yarn a few rows later..
ОтветитьThank you Tash, it was very interisting, as usual. I love your Armor jumper !
ОтветитьJust a delightful podcast, thank you!
ОтветитьHow long are you going to make the Sophie scarf for your mom? I really enjoy your podcast and get lots of inspiration from them.
ОтветитьGood idea to use the row counter for your Sophie Scarf. I’ve made the shawl and used lightbulb stitch markers. Put one into the B stitch of the KfB increase so I could count the rows easier. It’s hard to see the increase in a fluffier yarn.
ОтветитьRob Thomas Is the best ever!!!!! Enjoy the concert!!!!!!
ОтветитьHi Tash, Thank you for showing your no frills sweater from the vault, I'm knitting my first one using linen quill. It's such an easy knit. Love your half and half, you've made good progress.
ОтветитьBeautiful projects and yarns. I am tempted to knit the Armor sweater when the pattern becomes available.
A few viewers seemed to be curious about the math formula you use to count sequences of stiches. Is it related to the German mathematician ? Such a neat "trick"...
❤❤❤
The speckled yarn with the no frills and T is spectacular up close.
ОтветитьHi Tash, that was fab! Your colours are just making my knitting heart swoon as usual. I’ve been going through a reassessing stage where I have given away lots of knits and the yarn that I adore I have been unraveling. And yes that includes mohair! I usually go through my wardrobe two or three times a year and have a giveaway, donate and the hardest one is the I don’t know pile that sits there looking at me. Think I’m finally ready to give away all my really high shoes, I haven’t worn them in years so who am I kidding! I’m such a lazy comfort girl these days 🤭😂
Your Cami straps I would say when you knit them wash
them and stretch the living daylights out of them. Hanging helps but you may as well get to the end quickly 💪🏻😬
I just realised I’ve missed your last few episodes, time goes by so quickly and I too haven’t been on social media very much. I do love your test and it looks absolutely stunning, and again the colour chefs 😚
Thanks for sharing, happy knitting, Karen 🥰
Hi Tash. Just wondering if you shorten raglan part how do you adjust decreases on sleeves as I suspect I need to do. Such a lovely podcast. You are very talented
ОтветитьI like the sleeves short. Very nice!
ОтветитьI love the term “friend from the vault” 🙂
ОтветитьHi- I'm new here and love your work. It seems to be that many of your pieces are knit with two yarns together ( usually a mohair and something else). Is that what the patterns suggests or do you do your guage swatching with the two yarns together just because you like the look?
ОтветитьHello, I am an avid follower and love your well prepared sessions and precision. Can I ask you to check your sound recording as I watch many knitting podcasts from all over and yours is the only podcast where I have to turn up the sound significantly for some reason. Are you able to help? Much appreciated. Thanks
ОтветитьYour Armor sweater is coming along so nicely.
As for the speckled No Frills, I think it suits you well, much more than if you had used the speckled yarn by itself.
Have you thought of wearing it with a plain cream or pink Sophie Scarf to create a break between your skin and the speckles?
I’d love to learn more about the mathematical sequence - you’re so clever to figure out how much yarn you need for the decreases rather than making a wild guess.
Your No Frills is absolutely gorgeous! Love it on you!
ОтветитьHey Tash! Non knitters never seem to believe me when I tell them how much math is involved in knitting!!! I also would love to learn more if/when you can do some tutorials on that. I never hit gauge and I am always fiddling with modifications all the time, also because of fit. Fit is my biggest pet peeve, I really really want things to fit well, and 99,9% of what I knit are gifts for different people with different patterns with different yarns so I am constantly fiddling and calculating and frogging!😅 I love your no frills! I am also someone who does not like too much going on in the yarn, but I actually think it's really nice. Also the rock it tee is lovely, and maybe the strips bring out the variagation even more! that is another pattern on my impossible wish list! The Armour has such a stylish interesting shape and fits you so well! 🌷
ОтветитьLove the test knit sweater, your yarn choice is perfect. The neckline is beautiful.
ОтветитьWould you please tell me what cast on you used for the No Frills collar? I am just past the short rows after using a tubular cast on, but I’m afraid that the collar might stretch a lot. Thinking maybe to rip and go with a long tail, but I’m reluctant to do that. Thanks very much & please keep the Mostly Knitting episodes coming.
ОтветитьDo you think I'd need to use the mohair with the opal fingering yarn to make the No Frills Sweater. Yarn is expensive enough without a lot of Patterns calling for holding two yarns at the same time. I enjoy your podcasts very much.
