Krige, the worst captain the Boks ever had. He was filthy and not the best 6 in the country at the time. I stopped watching the game after 10 minutes because I was disgusted at what our team had resorted to. Krige should never have worn the green and gold again after this game.

When I played school boy rugby, mountaineering was actively encouraged. We all did it. I don't think I ever left the field without rake marks on my back and legs. Unfortunately, this also resulted in a player from the opposing team getting his neck broken. We only found out on Monday morning at assembly. He didn't get up, ambulance took him away. We knew it was serious, but didn't realise exactly how serious. We thought maybe a bad concussion.

It's crazy to come back to this knowing the way the game goes today and realise krige probably would have had a ban in the number of years if he was lucky enough to escape a lifetime ban! The first high tackle is reckless and dangerous, for sure a red and several games ban, but the following offences are straight up assault. Now I'm not saying that England never did anything either, it was simply a different game back then, but to all those blokes who like to say "The game's gone soft" because nowadays a shoulder-charge to the head is an instant red without mitigation, I am bloody glad of that fact. If the only way you can beat a rugby team is by assaulting the opposition when you don't think anyone's looking, then you deserve South Africa's fate back then - a total embarrassment of a score board, and a boo from every crowd you ever appear in front of again!

One of lowest points in Springbok rugby we played like thugs. I expected better especially from Krige, who until this game did not from what I can recall have a reputation as a dirty player. Well we got truly pasted for it anyway.
