why charge slower charge at public chargers, beats the purpose as needing to charge is annoying on a trip> Why does the reel say use a slower charge?

So coming from a Tesla to bmw the rule was always be charging. Set the car to 80% and leave it plugged in while at home. Is this not the case with bmw at home level 2 charging?
