I agree. I would never by a graded modern coin. Especially gold. Beautiful gold coins though.
ОтветитьIt’s so crazy how far stackers go to research values of the fiat dollar losing its power and inflation but can’t seem to figure out the facts by now of how much each PM would have to go up in order to offset the premiums incurred when buying it why surely they have thought about it huh surely there not green to that one would figure by now they would have that down to a spread sheet by now if silver spot price is here you need to buy silver here and it needs to go up to here to break even point etc never have I heard this yet
ОтветитьAgreed. Thank You Sir. THE SARGE
ОтветитьThere Is a Reason Govenments Hold Gold Bars , With Out Pretty Pictures and Symbols on them Too add percieved value, Believe it Or Not !
ОтветитьHating modern coin grading for the reasons you stated is a clear indication of you apparently not understanding modern grading. 😟
Too much to get into here but suffice to say, 1. Thete are ways to fix the problems you point out, 2. modern graded coins have a firm place in the coin collector market for very specific and important reasons to the many people who seek them out.
It's white on rice
Ответитьtheres the old 77d usd
ОтветитьMy understanding is NGC changed the First Strike designation to Early Release as part of a 2020 lawsuit they settled about deceptive market practices.
ОтветитьWhilst I agree with you regarding pointlessly grading modern bullion coins, I personally far prefer graded proof gold sovereigns here in the U.K. There are tens of thousands of them that have been handled, mauled and impaired. Absolutely kills the proof finish and value. Eye appeal is everything when collecting proofs. I've graded pre-33 U.S. to verify they're not fakes too.
ОтветитьI dont like modern coin grading and agree with the previous comments posted here. Totally agree with you Sal. Coin grading works best for classic numismatic coins. I think Early and First Releases of modern slabbed bullion coins are scams.
ОтветитьSal. You can send me any coins you hate. Haha. By the way, how's those adoption papers coming, dad?
ОтветитьI seen proof get a lower numbers. A proof is usually a better blank a early strike hit harder polish to raise detail so i dont know. If i send one to ngc.would use it to verify the coin is real.
ОтветитьGeorge Gammon is in Argentina to see if Bitcoin, Gold, or Silver is the best exchange for local fiat. Gold needed a haircut of 50% to transfer into fiat. Bitcoin needed email and phone numbers with verification. Silver was the best exchange to local fiat.
ОтветитьI agree the modern 70's are more then likley not 70's at all
Ответитьwe all hate modern coin grading because only in a few instances does a grade really increase the value and its worth the risk of getting a coin graded.. I will admit Ive had 2 coins graded and did get 70 from PCGS both times and I was shocked because I really thought it was a racket that mostly rewarded dealers who give volume to grading companies and punishes individuals who submit only a few coins or even a single coin submission.
ОтветитьHey Sal, the correct term is "White on rice!", not fried on rice. My drill sergeant used that on us all the time back in the day, so I'll never forget it and I use it myself because it's a perfect statement.
ОтветитьI was hoping Uncle SaL would bust open the Case with a Heavy Hammer 🔨 Free The Gold! 😂
ОтветитьSame! Ordered my FIRST 1 oz gold coin, a Gold Buffalo. Bought random year, paid $35 over spot and received a 2010 MS70 Early Release, for the same price! It is cool, but, I cannot hold my first 1 oz gold coin in my hand! Thought about breaking out of case, but then again, why do it, I guess. ....White on rice :)
ОтветитьThx Sal. Great video. And Awesome info. And in response to your conundrum. I learned early in my 20's. That collective stuff is only as valuable as the buyer believes it's worth. Other then that. It's only worth what you purchased it for from the manufacturer. or what is the persistent going price of the item online. U ROCK Doc.👍👀🖖👻🤘😎🎸🎶
ОтветитьToday at the coin show in Las Vegas. I picked up a coin I have always wanted. A Mexican 1921 50 peso I rarely ever see one. I finally broke down and pulled the trigger on it. They are going up so high in price. If I did not get it now. I Might not get another chance.
ОтветитьTell us how you really feel uncle sal. Hahaha
ОтветитьOne of the first things I learned with coins is buy the coin not the holder. Good job not paying too much sal.
ОтветитьWhat? Uncle Sal doesn't want me to have fun? Listen, if I want to get scammed I dont give two poopies what you think, I am going to enjoy getting scammed!
ОтветитьBreak 'em out! Those are all fantastic coins. Just happen to be in junk plastic. Cheers!
ОтветитьGood info
Ответитьthumbs up
ОтветитьPeople spend money every month on something they despise their bills and their rent/mortgage and thier property taxes.
What exactly is a graded coin? What does that mean?
Coin grading services have ruined numismatics . Stack for weight .
ОтветитьDo you feel any different about modern bullion proofs being graded?
ОтветитьMODERN COIN SCAMS - YOU DECIDE?
a) Mint a modern precious metal coin. Be certain to only produce a relatively small number thereof (this drastically cuts production costs). Advertise the low mintage number (this will attract thousands of potential purchasers that are psychologically affected by low mintage numbers . . . no matter how "common" is the coin's attributes of design, et cetera). Charge an exorbitant
purchase price!
b) Offer for sale (or buying) a MS-69 slabbed, modern, precious metal coin . . . except with the intention of removing same from said slab if the idea is to pass the coin on to others.
Of course there may be personal reasons for keeping the coin in its slabbed condition (coin protection, et cetera). But, the point is buying and keeping an MS-69 marked coin only ADVERTISES that some Subjective Authority has pronounced the coin as being somewhat DEFECTIVE. Who needs that - never mind the fact that such subjective pronouncement could be totally arbitrary?
Consideration for removing such coin from the slab (and maybe installing a capsule for protection) might be the wise way to go.
I agree when it comes to modern bullion, regular coins are a separate issue and the grading actually does increase the value in most cases other than modern bullion
ОтветитьKindly comment on the letter "W" on these coins (the numismatic value for West Point mintage). Thank you
ОтветитьOnly slabed antique gold ?
ОтветитьI don’t think the majority of eagle buyers realize they are “junk gold-90%”
Same ratio(1.40) you’d need another half to equal a Buffalo
I'm the same way. I have a few graded coins, but I paid bullion prices for them.
I have a few graded silver coins I got cheap also, and I bought them because they looked cool in the holder.😂
A slab keeps a coin free from accidental damage and it shows that a coin is genuine in an ever increasing market of clever fakes
ОтветитьZimbabwe tomorrow officially become yhe first country to rejoin after more than 50 years to the gold standard... They dumping the dollar and turn their currency to be backed by gold. The currency called zig. You should talk about... No one in the mainstream media talking about it. This is more bullish news for gold and silver 🎉🎉
ОтветитьDid you test them? I don't care for the heavy plastic protectors
ОтветитьTotally agree. I also dislike the missing reed.
ОтветитьType two gold Eagle's don't look that great compared to some other gold coins out there that are cheaper
ОтветитьI was able to pick up 2 MS 70 gold eagles for 50 bucks under spot a few years ago. I actually got some feed back for buying them. I couldn't buy an ungraded OZ for that price. Buy the coin. Not the slab!
ОтветитьExplooore🐱 i missed you🤪
ОтветитьGoPro Scam Cam !!!?🌎🗿™️
ОтветитьNot much of a fan of the Gold Eagle myself. If there were fractional Buffalos on a yearly basis, I would solely stack those.
ОтветитьI’m not sure the American Eagle is still the world’s most popular gold coin - The Eagle (and UK Sovereigns, RSA Krugerands) are 22k / .917 and the Chinese and Asian markets (definitely the biggest bullion markets globally) much prefer 24k / .999 and avoid the 22k stuff whenever possible. And I think the India market is the same. 👍
ОтветитьGold is gold. Don't pay too much for it!
