doing it this way makes the hone dwell a verry long time at the top and the bottom , might not get a straight cilinder that way

Dwell Time !!!??? With that spring loaded hone head, the length of the shaft and everything wobbling around the cylinder being straight is the last thing you need to be worrying about... ;)

you could probably solve your dwell with a second pivot arm that gets close to it's max travel as the crank through does. might put a lot of thrust load on the linkages though. this would also allow you to adjust stroke length easily as well with a slide.
