A camera is the witness that never lies and can not be intimidated. That is why cops, public officials and other criminals fear being recorded by the public.

Police academies primarily train recruits in how to establish and maintain control. They are indoctrinated in that necessity to the point that they are obsessive in their desire to establish control over everybody. That is why that cop tried to make them step back. It had nothing to do with the dog, it had nothing to do with safety, it was all about establishing control over anybody in the area.

And the fear of the camera showing any crime they might want to commit is why they fear having a camera pointed at them. I do not remember where, but I read that someone in a trial proved that the police dog was trained to "hit" whenever the officer made a discrete gesture at any part of a car or a person so they can always "justify" searching any vehicle or person they want.

I wonder how many of these "drug dogs" are actually trained to locate drugs. Are all police K9's trained to sniff drugs or do they have other uses too? When a police K9 shows up to walk around your car how do we know it's actually trained for that? How do we know it's not trained to attach or protect or just an offices pet he brought to work and claims to have alerted? I have very little confidence in anything the police tell me.

in 2013 I was pulled over 3am or so, for a dim licence plate light. Cop claimed he had a drug sniffing K9 although neither his uniform or car identified him as such. I was pulled out of my car, handcuffed and made to wait in the backseat of another cops car while the dog did a walk around sniff on my car. I don't use drugs and have never had any drugs of any kind in my car but of course the cops claimed the dog "alerted." The cops thrashed my car, emptied my trunk onto the ground, pulled trunk panels down, partially removed all 4 door panels, emptied glove box and center console onto the floor, released glove box so it hung down stressed the glove box hinge so now it doesn't close straight, and of course found nothing! I was lectured about being out at that time of the night, and released with no ticket. Cops left me on the side of the road with my torn apart car. I still had to try and repair my trunk panels, reload the trunk, neither of my rear doors would close until pounded door panels back into place. I'm a white adult male driving a nice good condition 5 year old car in SD, CA.

The sad part, is those two young men getting upset with the guys filming! They don't understand that the mere presence or mention of someone recording, will make cops think twice before they do anything more underhanded! They drove away. They were not arrested. They should have said thank you!
