How can a cactus be native to China? What kind of fallacy is that? First of all, it's not a species but a collective name referring to many species of cacti blooming at night. Secondly, they're all American. There's no cacti native to anywhere else except Americas. They have all been introduced, like potato or tomato. The only exception is rhipsalis (mistletoe cactus), which is native to Africa and Sri Lanka.
ОтветитьAnd regarding the slipper orchids. I'm an orchid grower and a collector of slipper orchids. If you speak about slipper orchids in general, then they include 3 genera. Cyptipedium is European, the one that you showed first. Then you show Paphiopedilum, which is Asian. There is also Phragmipedium, which is American. Obviously, you haven't studied the basics before posting the video.

ОтветитьThat "night blooming cereus" really looks like Epiphyllum, Queen of the Night, and it's native to central america, not China. Maybe the Chinese have found some use for it, but it's not from there.
ОтветитьThat was really cool with some very unique plants
ОтветитьI'm sorry to disappoint all the sweethearts, but the passion flower is so called because several of the bloom's structures have been thought to resemble aspects of the Crucifixion - Christ's Passion. The three stigmas represent the three nails with which He was fixed to the Cross; the squiggly filaments recall the whipping by Herod's soldiers, and so on. I forget what most of the parallels are, but there are several.
ОтветитьThanks heaps for sharing, and great information 😊❤
