The Mysterious World of Owls (with Jennifer Ackerman) 9/19/24

I went to a school where there were burrowing owls, FAU, in Florida. They were pretty cool. You would see them in the eaves of the buildings during the day, short little things, 6 to 8 inches tall maybe.

Very interesting Russ. While rock climbing at Red Rock Canyon just outside Las Vegas where I live, we came across two adolescent owls perched along our route. One was perched slightly higher than the other. We got within 12-18". Neither budged when my partner passed by but when I passed, one owl grabbed by pack with its talons, momentarily hung upside down, then released and soared down somewhere. So very cool. We have excellent close up photos.
