I clicked on this video so fast.
ОтветитьThat is interesting, but I would do this: Unlimited would be an unlimited 2% card. The flex would go to a 5x on top-spend categories like the Citi costume cash. I would reintroduce the Og freedom as the 5x on rotating categories. The CSR gets 3x gas and 4x on restaurants, and the CSP gets 3x on grocery, making all the cards complimentary. However, I would stick with the 1 sapphire rule. Then drop Hyatt for Marriot at two to one. With something like this I would have very little reason to use any other card for anything. Right now I'm using chase Amex and Citi
ОтветитьI’d prefer them not drop Hyatt but if they did, and changed up how their cards earn in a positive direction, I’d still stick with Chase. I live next to two airports that are United and Southwest hubs so it’s easy to just use United and SW
ОтветитьCould you see Reserve getting 4x dining and 4x travel?
ОтветитьHyatt is the only reason I have the Chase ecosystem; the other hotel redemptions are way too steep. With my INK Cash cards (2) I get 5x on almost everything from buying GC's at office supply stores, 250,000+ UR points per year from the INK Cash cards alone!
ОтветитьWould rather have dysfunctional Chase trifecta than lose Hyatt tbh
ОтветитьAs a person that stays on Hilton, Hyatt & Marriott’s, Chase will lose its appeal. It will become another Wells Fargo or Citi, where they don’t have any unique partner with a lot of upside value. Hyatt is the best program in all of hotels and airline programs. You know how much exactly the cost on points without doing crazy math. But what do I know, I’m just a regular Joe.
ОтветитьIf Chase lost Hyatt, the real winner would be Bilt. Without Hyatt, I don’t see the point in keeping my CSR and Inks.
ОтветитьI put up with Chase’s horrible customer service and 0% APY on my accounts because of Hyatt.
ОтветитьFunny you post this, I tweeted at chase today saying they need to update the Reserve benefits and they just replied to me saying to DM them lololol
Told them skip the dms we need a refresh!
If Chase loses/nerfs Hyatt, I'll have to consider exiting the Chase ecosphere entirely (instead of just mulling over a CSR-CSP downgrade).
ОтветитьI think Chase to IHG at 1:2 would make more sense compared to Marriot Bonvoy as IHG imo would be more comparable to Amex to Hilton at 1:2 and Wells/Citi to Choice at 1:2. It would also compliment the IHG Premier card extremely well with the fourth night free. Would we do the transfer? Not likely but if IHG has a transfer bonus, that could actually be a solid value prop.
ОтветитьI’d quite happily take this deal
ОтветитьInteresting takes Matt. Chase would be much stonger ecosystem with these changes.....but the Hyatt fanboys.....yeah.....
ОтветитьAs someone who is generally working on multiple SUBs at the same time, the multipliers are essentially meaningless to me at this point. At some point Im sure I will need to slow down and actually use cards as they were intended.
Ответитьlike you said at the end. It would be good for normies, but not for us.
ОтветитьInteresting thoughts. I missed your roundups.
ОтветитьThanks for the shout out!
ОтветитьGreat ideas Matt... hopefully Chase is listening🤔
ОтветитьI hate that idea, lol. I’d cut use of all Chase products if they removed Hyatt as a transfer partner.
ОтветитьHyatt is what keeps me in the Chase ecosystem.... Thanks for the info + video!
ОтветитьWhat are they talking about? The Chase Freedom Flex already have 3% on groceries
ОтветитьHyatt is the largest draw for the Chase cards. I'm glad that this is just speculation!
