It doesn't feel like there's any real pressure to be competitive. Maybe with Wells Fargo and Citi coming out with new cards, there'll be some changes?
ОтветитьI am just waiting for them to get a multiple 3x card like Amex, Citi, Wells, and Cap1 and actually have a useful trifecta setup
ОтветитьChase always gonna Chase. Maybe changes will come, but i am skeptical. Thanks for the video Matt!
ОтветитьI want to love Chase but they make it so hard. Without the Inks they aren’t worth it.
ОтветитьI think Chase might have boxed themselves into a corner in a couple areas: they're already fully committed to the 25/50% portal boosts with the CIP/CSP/CSR, and their most popular transfer partner is a really expensive one. I dunno, maybe the 2x CFU offer from last year is their trial balloon to see how badly they'd get soaked if motivated players show up - especially since that offer was only available via affiliate links so it would tend to target this niche community.
ОтветитьChase will fix their issue lol. tBD of course
ОтветитьChase and Amex going toe to toe would be such fun.
ОтветитьChase needs a card to compete with Amex, the problem is as large as they are they are stingy with credit card rewards. AMEX is a lot smaller asset wise yet has a stronger rewards footprint in the credit world. I think corporate at Chase have such a drive for their own wealth that increasing rewards on their credit cards is low on their priority. CSP being revamped might be our only hope, I heard recently a Chase Emerald card might be in the works it could be the answer we were all looking for.
ОтветитьVerizon Visa gives 4% back at two of the three Walmarts (a supercenter and a market) near me. The third, also a supercenter, and least convenient for me, I've tested several times, and it only ever returns 1%. YMMV. Now that I have the CIP, the VV is losing it's luster for me and will probably devolve into my dedicated Wally World card and no annual fee/no foreign transaction fee 4% grocery, gas and dining Visa card while overseas. The CFF will get that spend stateside. Take that, Amex Gold!
ОтветитьI would rather them create a new freedom elite card for the Amex gold clone. That way, it could be paired with either sapphire card. Or maybe refresh the CFU and add the grocery and gas categories. CFU needs more spice.
ОтветитьThe earnings on the CSP is so weak, I won't get the card because I know I won't use it after earning the sign up bonus at all
ОтветитьHey there the PenFed Platinum Rewards card gives 5x on gas and EV, 3x on groceries (Walmart and Target included) TV radio cable streaming, and 1X everything else. AND unlike Navy Federal anyone can join at no annual fee. A decent back up card.
ОтветитьChase could be soooo good...... Thanks for the info + video!
ОтветитьI hope Chase listens and starts making updates soon… otherwise they’ll be left on the side of the road. Thanks Matt!
ОтветитьI'd be happy if Chase Sapphire was 1.5 points per dollar in non bonus categories: Which would 1.65 10% EOY then 25% if you use Chase travel portal which would be about 2% matches the Capital One Venture.
5% back on Chase point travel portal redemptions like Priceline Visa ( same as regular spend ) might be another route to consider.
Freedom cards are useless to me as I spend most my time abroad.
