The 10 Best Rye Whiskies For The Money!

I like ryes but I need to branch out. I like the dickel, old forester, WT anything, new riff rye and SB rye. Just got a bottle of pikesville and it was very good

Ok so what is the best one out of this entire line up? Can some one give me a top 3 from these?

For some reason of all these whiskey tubers, Kurt just stands out above them all as a down to earth, trustworthy, mans man, whiskey guy

From Australia all USA whiskey all start at $60au and with rye whiskey start at $70au I find some Australian rye whiskey are at same price as its USA cousin

After learning that Doc Holliday, Ulysses Grant, and JFK drank 'Old Overholt' rye whisky, BIB, I bought a bottle out of curiosity. I found it had almost no aroma and some vanilla flavor. Even at $23, I wouldn’t buy it again.

Pikesville and Rittenhouse are pretty much the same Mashbill 51% ryes from Heaven Hil, Pikesville is a 6 year old and 110 proof, really enjoy a pour of Pikesville Neat but prefer Rittenhouse as a great mixer, enjoy Rittenhouse in an Old-fashioned or Manhattan.

I'm not a rye drinker (don't dislike it, just never came up), but I have had - and enjoyed - Bulliet rye,
I recently heard Michter's Rye is veyy good ... although I haven't yet found any to confirm.

You gotta try the new low proof Rye from Hard Truth. High Road Rye is only 40 bucks and it seriously holds up. Give it a try! Sweet Mash Rye is my favorite but it was a strain on my budget at 75 but High Road is almost as good for about half the price. Unbeatable value

Nice review! And happy belated Birthday! I just grabbed Redemption Rye and made me a Manhattan. I thought the Rye was good, and the Manhattan tested really nice with that Rye. I like Pikesville Rye, but I personally call it illegal Bourbon, because it really feels like Bourbon in the pallet, except for it’s not 51% corn. Great job I’ve been following your videos and they are all enjoyable!

For months I could only find Sazerac locked up in the allocated section for $60 at my local stores, but today I drove to another city and found it on the shelf for $29!! Crazy world.

Glad to see Bullitt and Sazerac on the list. Another rye I like that did not make the list is Basil Hayden Dark Rye. Love an Old Fashioned with the dark rye.

Managed to find Sag and Sag DO recently... I don't dislike them but the Dill note is just a bit weird to me, it's so front and center. I generally do not get that from Rye's but Sag seems to have an incredible amount of Dill on the palate.

Hands down Redemption Rye, a 30.00 bottle that I prefer over most of the bottles I have that cost double even triple that

I just recently found Old Overholt 114 for...a mere $9.90 per bottle (750ml). I figured why not try it, it's only 10 bucks. Wow! Great rye whiskey at a great price. Try it if you haven't.

Bulleit 95 at $30 in late 2023 is a real winner. So many great flavors in that bottle, and I only ever drink it neat. Sadly doesn’t last very long at my house haha

Dickel rye is amazing because they finish it over frozen sugar cubes and what not. It's literally made from the same batch as bulliet rye, and buffalo trace. Only difference is how they process the batch and barrel it. Look it up

I was in the mood for rye but not in the mood to drive to one of the larger liquor stores so I thought I'd try the little store around the corner from my house. They're very nice and helpful but their selection is small which is why I watched your video before I went. The lady from Bulleit was there so I picked up the Bulleit rye, and I got a free t-shirt too. I tried a little as soon as I got home and it was very nice. I'm looking forward to having a glass tonight. Thanks Ken.

What/ No Woodford Reserve?

You should try the Rene from Clearwater distillery in Utah. If ever out there a must visit.

Sagamore double oaked is my fave rye ever. Almost tastes just like woodford double oaked to me

Bulleit rye... I get cherry, vanilla, tobacco notes. Absolute great cocktail rye

Pikesville Rye is one of my absolute favorite whiskeys. It is well worth the $50 price, in my opinion.

Revisiting this video because I happened to stumble upon a Sazerac Rye today. Excited to try it! Enjoying all the videos as I learn the world of whisky.
