I had been trying to match up some far-red and red LEDSs in the past, but I switched over to Lumiled horticultural COB emitters (even the Chinese knock-offs are good, and economical), which have Emerson-effect red and IR wavelengths... if you want blues, there are plenty of emitters, but there are also actinic fixtures for aquariums, which are LED based, and have plenty of light in or near UVA bands.

If I were going to say anything about using far-red light, I'll say that I KNOW it increases biomass... in the same way that it increases biomass, it DECREASES potency. The plant makes only so many trichs per group of cells, and as the plant cells grow larger due to the red effect, it odes NOT increase trichs or cannabinoids. It's like saying (quite simplified) that the plant will make only a certain amount of cannabinoid per plant, and if you're plant is "smaller" (due to an increase in blues) it will assay as more potent (more THC per gram) than a larger, red effected plant which will seem "weaker" due to more veg matter... despite both plants having the same amount of cannabinoid.

i have a uva plus ir dimlux led add on and i was told not to leave the ir on for too long because it’s invisible heat it will burn the plants,i’ve just finished rainbow belts and i had to leave it a week and a half over the 9 weeks and it was still abit hairy,still looked early,would of left it longer but nannas started appearing

I'm looking into purchasing a new light for my 4x2 tent. A few companies make lights that have separate knobs to control light spectrum? I'm interested in the Kind led X-420 light. It has two knobs, one that controls a targeted full spectrum light and a second that controls UV/IR spectrum. Their site has very compelling info of the benefit of controlling light spectrum at differing stages of growth. If anyone has knowledge/experience with Kind lights or other companies, California Lightworks etc, let me know. Thanks

Thanks guys I'm moving soon and I am working on getting some new lights I will still use my old spider farm lights but this time I will look at buying better lights these work fine but adding IFR lights will help but I want new lights with better range

I flower at 13 on 11 of it does give better buds I remember this guy who one a cup years ago saying he ran his lights 18 6 for 2 weeks at the end outdoors they flower at 13 to 14 hours it takes longer but bigger better buds

My Australian government have become drug dealers its not legal to grow but there is adds every where for prescription weed I bought 6 different lots very ordinary never again I guess America started of like this in your legal state's they throw prescriptions around like lollies the doctors get paid from 160 to 240 for every script they write which is for 6 months

Weed should be the same price as tobacco the government makes plenty on tax of tobacco so why should outdoor weed cost so much yes indoor cost's more to grow but outdoor you will have bad seasons but you will have plenty of good just like growing wheat cotton etc I grew outdoors for years back then you got paid big money because you took the risk of going to gaol and loosing every thing you owned now it's just a crop like any other crop

IR helps plant it induce sleep faster...I heard that it takes 2 hours when you just shut off the light but it takes only 30mn with IR help...so you will harvest faster about 4 days earlier on 60 days strains...so going for 13/11 won't have a huge impact on flowering time but you will get 6% increase on dry weight

I have been using auto’s lately because I believe they are much improved since my first one. N Atlantic seed. “ White Rhino “ and “dosedoes autos. Fills a gap created by my states sour attitude about growing outside where everything grows to its full potential. I feel better, thanks!

Gro Mouse has been talking about these for a while. HLG used to have a far red bulb for sale too. I’ve used it multiple grows, having it come on for 10 minutes after lights off. It was a 730nm bulb with a e26 base. From what I saw, plants were very frosty and I was able to use a 13/11 light schedule.

Just started with sub lighting. Plants late into flower ran Far red for 1hr1/2 broken into 3 sessions 30 min per session over 7hr. They stayed on 15min before and after light went off. I notice my flowers started to stretch after 2weeks and leaves started growing much larger than they were the entire grow. Because being so far into flower I didn’t think they would stretch and they did. So I turned my far red off until harvest and left the deep red on with 12hr light cycle and blue UV on at first 10min of every hour even during off light cycle.
My plants were started outside through 3weeks flower then brought in under the Mars Hydro 2024 fc4800 evo and new sub lighting. The effects are impressive.
I watch Bugbee’s session on sub lighting and the effects , it was insanely educational. Watched it several times as well.
Q. how long can blue UV can stay on at a time?

If the argument is u shouldn't own firearms bc u consume or grow a herb.. then some could say the same for alcohol consumption or home brewers... And in that argument how many first responders consume either should not be able to own or operate firearms or vehicle's... Interesting that the ornamental horticulture folks growing in hoop houses without supplemental lighting are seeing more stretch in crops they've grown for years. It's something going on with our natural spectrum 😕
Good thing I've got cannabis to help my body adapt, detoxify and cope. Given what I was able to produce in a walk-in closet with just full spectrum fluorescent bulbs 40 years ago, the future looks bright 😎

I have my blue spectrum diodes on a dimmer dial. And my red, IR, and UV on another. Week 1-2 of flower I do 80 percent blue 25 percent red. Week 2-3 I turn the red up to 50 percent and 25 percent intervals moving up . I try to do everything in small adjustments, keep things smooooth

House hold Bleach is sodium hypochlorite. Hypochlorous acid is what they sale as a descaller or flushing agent. It’s not what home bleach is. Hypo is in facial disinfectant and I’m not sure why it’s not in home goods but it is in some stuff.
