Can you administer in same location each time, or should you change it each time?

My cat has bitten me while trying to do this, at the same time trying to bolt. That's with two of us trying to administer the fluid.

In my experience, it's best to not do it by yourself, especially not at first. If the cat is a cuddly one, or likes being held at all, then have the person the cat trusts most to hold them. We had similar issues with another cat when she needed a feeding tube but eventually she became less scared and we didn't need to restrain to feed or medicate her at all and one person could do it alone. That cat also got used to her inhaler eventually. It's not just down to personality, the cats in these videos are so calm and compliant because they're used to it. It's treats and attention Tuesday for them, so they handle it better.

Is it okay if the cat moves around a bit and isn't perfectly still? Do you have to hold the needle in place the whole time once it's in, or can you free up both your hands?

Great Video! Slowly but surely, gets the job done, using treats helps- beef or Turkey baby food works. Make sure to let the air bubbles out before inserting.

My cat is very old and thin. There is basically no fat between the shoulder blades. I am afraid I puncture through the skin completely. Plus she will never sit like that.

I bought a cheap thing with a long handle - it happened to be a mop - and taped it to a 5' stepladder so the end of the handle was maybe 2' above the top of the ladder. We can still use it as a ladder. I then put the bag of fluids on a coat hanger and put the coat hanger into the hole in the end of the handle.

Yet another video with a compliant cat, sedated even? Many cats simply will not allow you to do this without extreme duress! Not surprisingly they never show cats like that. My cat would not tolerate it, so I made the decision to not continue putting her through the ordeal of even getting the needle in. I could never get fluid into her, so left that to a diet of wet food for hydration. She was 15 years old, hyperthyroid and with a heart condition. I decided to make her as comfortable as possible until it was time to say goodbye as opposed to a stressful life of poking, prodding, testing and frequent vet visits. Thats no way to live.

Can we use intracath there ? In subcutaneous area ? It feels like my cat hates pricks. If we put intracath there for 2-3 days will that work ?

You have left out something so serious I can't believe it when you open up a bag each time you need to run the fluids to make sure you get rid of the bubbles why aren't you showing that a person can kill their animal when the bubbles go under the skin

Is it sterile water or saline or LR? sterile water is not for injection in humans.

My cat went bonkers...I tried 3 times. The vet gave me a syringe to inject the 60 ml which is almost impossible to operate while putting in the needle. Great vet I got. Both my friend and I tried to push down the plunger of the syringe and it requires Herculean strength! Why didn't they just give me the tube with the 2 clamps?!?! Not going back there again!.😢😢😢
