Thank you. This was so helpful. I gave my cat fluid yesterday. I wasted alot, but I did get fluid inside of him. This makes so much sense. I will do a better job tonight thanks to you. Thank you!!!
ОтветитьWhere can I get the equipment? Would I need a prescription??
My vet charges $55 for this😮
Can you administer in same location each time, or should you change it each time?
ОтветитьMy cat has bitten me while trying to do this, at the same time trying to bolt. That's with two of us trying to administer the fluid.
ОтветитьMasking ... why? Really detracts from the presentation.
ОтветитьNy cats fur was all wet when I gave it to him. I did something wrong.🤦🏾♀️
ОтветитьExcellent demo. Thank you!
ОтветитьIn my experience, it's best to not do it by yourself, especially not at first. If the cat is a cuddly one, or likes being held at all, then have the person the cat trusts most to hold them. We had similar issues with another cat when she needed a feeding tube but eventually she became less scared and we didn't need to restrain to feed or medicate her at all and one person could do it alone. That cat also got used to her inhaler eventually. It's not just down to personality, the cats in these videos are so calm and compliant because they're used to it. It's treats and attention Tuesday for them, so they handle it better.
ОтветитьThank you. I have a hard time doing this. I watch many videos and learn from each one. I think Im getting the hang of it.
ОтветитьThanks for making this video!
ОтветитьThanks, can you give blood the same way
ОтветитьIs it okay if the cat moves around a bit and isn't perfectly still? Do you have to hold the needle in place the whole time once it's in, or can you free up both your hands?
ОтветитьVery helpful, thank you. Wish me luck with my cat that doesn't like anything!
ОтветитьGreat Video! Slowly but surely, gets the job done, using treats helps- beef or Turkey baby food works. Make sure to let the air bubbles out before inserting.
ОтветитьThanks for the video it reaffirm i am doing it right. i have the nicest 16 year old cat. he doesnt make any fuss. I love my cat!
ОтветитьI’m new to giving my cat fluids. I’m totally comfortable putting the needle in him and understand the bag has to be raised.
I don’t understand the difference of the two clamps.
Can anyone explain? Thank you!
how often does the primary tubing need to be changed?
ОтветитьMan my cat almost tore my face off when we dis this! Thank you for tutorial😊
Ответитьcan we use this way to give glucose 5%?
ОтветитьThank you for this help❤
ОтветитьMy cat is very old and thin. There is basically no fat between the shoulder blades. I am afraid I puncture through the skin completely. Plus she will never sit like that.
ОтветитьThank you!
ОтветитьThank you so much for the information.
ОтветитьI bought a cheap thing with a long handle - it happened to be a mop - and taped it to a 5' stepladder so the end of the handle was maybe 2' above the top of the ladder. We can still use it as a ladder. I then put the bag of fluids on a coat hanger and put the coat hanger into the hole in the end of the handle.
Ответитьthank you, I followed every step and it went very smoothly. I do have one question though, it seemed like the fluids went in my cat pretty quick. Like 100 mL in a minute or two. Is that ok?
ОтветитьYet another video with a compliant cat, sedated even? Many cats simply will not allow you to do this without extreme duress! Not surprisingly they never show cats like that. My cat would not tolerate it, so I made the decision to not continue putting her through the ordeal of even getting the needle in. I could never get fluid into her, so left that to a diet of wet food for hydration. She was 15 years old, hyperthyroid and with a heart condition. I decided to make her as comfortable as possible until it was time to say goodbye as opposed to a stressful life of poking, prodding, testing and frequent vet visits. Thats no way to live.
ОтветитьWhere do you get the Fluids from? 🤔❓️
ОтветитьWhat treat can we give renal stages failure cats ?
ОтветитьCan we use intracath there ? In subcutaneous area ? It feels like my cat hates pricks. If we put intracath there for 2-3 days will that work ?
Ответитьmy vet showed me already but I'm sitting on my bathroom floor shaking with a needle in my hand rn
ОтветитьBut like, what if you have a normal cat who would run away instantly and has no chance of laying there compliantly for 15 minutes????
ОтветитьThank you for giving me confidence❤
ОтветитьWhich bag would you use if all of their lab numbers dropped? Would it still be just saline?
ОтветитьThere was no need to wear a mask while doing this video.
ОтветитьYou have left out something so serious I can't believe it when you open up a bag each time you need to run the fluids to make sure you get rid of the bubbles why aren't you showing that a person can kill their animal when the bubbles go under the skin
ОтветитьIs it sterile water or saline or LR? sterile water is not for injection in humans.
ОтветитьThe first thing I thought of when injection needles and flueshoot and I was like oh my gosh I just got a new one and I have to get it out of my head and I have to get it back to cat and I have to get it back to the doctor and I have to get it back to the hospital and then I have to go to the hospital so I have to get it back to the hospital but I don’t know if I can get it back or not because I have to go to work and I have to go to get my
ОтветитьGreat video! I will need to do this for sure in the next year with my 19 yr old CKD kitty!
ОтветитьI'm sick of these videos showing cats who are used to getting this, done by a VET! I'm looking for a video on how to do this AT HOME with a cat that's NOT USED TO IT. USELESS video... again!!
ОтветитьMy cat is hard to get ahold of because she is always afraid I am going to give her a pill or fluids and she has never liked being held. What is the snack that the cat in the video is eating?
Ответить15 minutes. You're kidding right
Ответитьhow long the fluid bag is safe to use once you started? I'm getting mixed answers from my vet and Google
ОтветитьMy cat went bonkers...I tried 3 times. The vet gave me a syringe to inject the 60 ml which is almost impossible to operate while putting in the needle. Great vet I got. Both my friend and I tried to push down the plunger of the syringe and it requires Herculean strength! Why didn't they just give me the tube with the 2 clamps?!?! Not going back there again!.😢😢😢
Ответитьhahah this cat is so goofy looking <3
ОтветитьQuestion, why does the fluid need to be on a drip rather than a stream if it’s going to be stored for slow absorption?
ОтветитьI was able to give my senior cat his first round of fluids by myself after watching this video. Thank you!!
ОтветитьSo you poked her for nothing and didn't even finish the fluids. Poor Vivian. 😢
ОтветитьHow far does the needle go in?
ОтветитьIf you wanted to give some pedialyte or medicine during iv where would you put it
Ответить
