Terri Lee Forbes

After a long battle with breast cancer our mother Terri Lee Forbes took her final breath peacefully with her children by her side, on Friday the 21st of October 2022.

Mums passing occurred after a long battle with breast cancer, originally diagnosed in 2007 and returning in 2019. She fought unbelievably hard for nearly 4 years until she surrendered to her illness.

Life threw Mum so many challenges; some of the biggest any person can face in their lifetime, but she stood up to each one, with grit and determination. She somehow found a way to make the best of tough situations, and many admired her resilience more than words can say.

Every day, Mum will be remembered for how selfless and caring she was. Despite illness and pain, she got up every morning with the mindset to care for others, even during her final moments.

She taught us to believe in ourselves and trust our instincts. To appreciate the simple things in life, but at the same time, to chase our dreams. These things have shaped Hugh and I into the people we are today.

Terri was like a flickering flame when surrounded by her friends, always the centre of attention, drawing everyone towards her. She laughed, she joked, she danced without inhibition, and her bubbly, happy personality was contagious.

Mum brightened every room and raised our spirits. Now her flame may be burnt out, but we are left with the memory of how bright she was.

Thank you for gifting us the strength and courage to stand on our own two feet. The greatest gift any mother could give her children.
