So it sounds like it is quite better than the previous R!
My question is: should I go for a used 2018 Thruxton R with 200km on it for 10k, or a brand new Thruxton RS for 16k? (Aprox US prices, actual sell prices are in MXN).
Primary use will be weekend blasts on B roads, work commutes a couple times a week, and ocasional track days.
Fun fact: "bom dia" literally translates to "bomb him/her" in my country.
Ответитьi love the random wheelie shots!! So good!
ОтветитьGive us a fricking break with all of the advertisements!!
ОтветитьC’mon my babee.
ОтветитьI’ve got a standard Thruxton 1200, the non R model without the Brembo brakes or the Ohlins / Showa suspension. surprisingly it handles very nicely in corners. Only 85.5 dyno BHP & 71 ft lbs dyno torque but you just waft around on the vast poundage
of torque.
What a blast and great review!
ОтветитьI had a 2010 Thruxton and it was one of the best bikes I owned. Great to commute, ride around town and with a backpack, small travel bike.
ОтветитьDamn. You guys were hauling. Guess the foot pegs we’re knackered. 😀
ОтветитьBetter than the Rocket 3?
ОтветитьWhen gary almost hit the cat did you see the name of the town they were entering? Doguno ha ha
ОтветитьHi Guys are you going to review the Triumph 1200 Scrambler XE ?
ОтветитьFelt it too much on the shoulders after a decent ride
Ответитьスラクストン 最高にかっこいい
ОтветитьCracking bikes the new triumph twins are, but as an owner of 1960's,1970's a 1987 harris bonnie, and 2 hinkley triumphs
A 2008 t100 bonnie and my last triumph a 2010 thruxton se ( all had 360 degree firing intervals) that gave instant throttle response and of course that unmistakable triumph twin sound!
That was it for me when triumph did away with the 360 degree firing interval
Maybe they are targeting new riders who would not even recognize the timeless sound a triumph with a 360 degree firing interval has!
Why oh why triumph did you loose your way and give us bikes that now no longer sound and feel like a triumph!
If Harley did away with its 45 degree engine it would no longer sound like a Harley!
I mean a bikes sound is a big deal,a Harley sounds like a Harley, a ducati sounds like ducati, but a triumph twin no longer sounds like a triumph twin.
That was skilled fast ride on beautiful road bike, shame am too tall
Ответитьriding canyons mountains in Caleefornia for so many years I CANT SEE HOW U CAN DO ANY TEST IN THAT TRAFFIC ..INSANE! I almost can't watch. my 2018 trx r ? well all I want 4 Christmas is .. A FUCKING WAY TO REMAP!! RAISE THE RED LINE & GET THE FUCK OUTTA MY WAY, I love the bike but with all that power, i'z need my 14k rpm, I mean 8k? GET THE F OUTTA HEAR & I thought it was gonna b sooo easy, damn
ОтветитьHow does it compare to monster 1100? Power seems very similar on paper.
ОтветитьHow does the Thruxton RS compare with the Speed Twin?
ОтветитьNice to see a real Test Ride!!!
ОтветитьVery nice cornering !
ОтветитьNige & Al are working it here. A fuelled up Thruxton 1200 weighs 214 kgs. Bit of weight to hustle round the corners. Triumph advertise 197 kgs dry.
ОтветитьLMAO...! IOM TT winner he says. . . . \m/
ОтветитьI'll go with RE continental 650 anyday in 1/3rd of price
ОтветитьBough a RS a month ago. Worth every penny.
ОтветитьDude in front was blowin yer doors off even tho you spent allot of time across the paint...... maybe multitasking isn't your strong suite.
All in all a good review
Just to note - This video and the Lamb Chops video = me buying a Thruxton RS recently. I was about to go for a Speed Triple RS 1200 - However, seeing the fun you guys had on this - I thought. Why not. The slowest bike I've owned. But, with the optional fairing - by miles the coolest bike. And one, despite the lack of tech (Quick Shifters etc) , a bike I am loving owning! Get Triumph to give you £20 ;-)
Ответитьunexpected the footpegs to scrape for a motorcycle like this
ОтветитьI love all the quick wheelie and max speed cuts 🤣🤣 absolutely hilarious
ОтветитьThat cat at 7mins 30 secs used up one of its nine lives! 😳 LOL.
ОтветитьShould I get one for the summer?
Ответитьthis bike with 25 more hp and another 2k rpm would be perfect
ОтветитьIronic that the cat almost got splatted in a place called Dogeuno 😂👍🏼 superb riding, I’m in the market at the moment and the 1200 RS is very attractive.
ОтветитьHow would this compare to a Ducati Sport Classic? A decent one would be a similar price.
ОтветитьI love those analog dials/gages right in between the bars in chrome. Beautiful cockpit
ОтветитьI feel the same way about my Daytona 765; you don't have to go really fast to enjoy riding. THAT's wonderful engineering and why I want another Triumph, this one! And when I do go quickly, it excels fantastically
Ответить$27,000 in Australia. Completely unrealistically priced.
ОтветитьWhat a road! ❤
Ответить"Naughty little sausage" is my new favorite accolade 😅
ОтветитьMore Peaorque- ⬆️ peak power and torque, nice one Nige. Looks like a classical casual blast!!
Ответить151 mph from my 2016 Thruxton R with a cam and ecu tune with 101 rear wheel horsepower. 11.678 quarter mile ET at altitude. The bike easily pulls higher gearing. Sweet motor.
ОтветитьAt 7.33 I thought it so funny that the road sign says DOGueno LOL
ОтветитьWell sadly this bike has been dropped from production now over poor sales apparently. I know it was expensive but what a great bike and a future classic collection piece. If only Triumph had used better colours - I would have upgraded my 2016 R to an RS if I could have got one in the same colour and trim as my current one - ice silver metallic gloss and lashings of polished aluminium and chrome. Instead Triumph created the very acquired taste paint jobs on these RS test bikes, blacked out all those lovely aluminium engine cases and wheels and got rid of the lovely red double stitching on the saddle.
ОтветитьGreat review... awesome Bike... I thought I'd be the one to spoil the party and say... did any of you see the skies in the background. Putrid. Anyway. Can't wait for my FE to arrive.
ОтветитьBeautiful bike and great review. However the rider in the front could work on his body positioning when cornering if he’s going to ride that hard. He needs to kiss the mirrors and get his upper body into the turn, not just his lower.
ОтветитьWhat a proper go on these two!
ОтветитьI have a 21’ for 4 years now. I have 3 other bikes that always need “something” to be done to them. My Thruxton is no fuss and my favorite to ride. It was flashed, Meerkat X-Pipe, Cone shorties, so the sound is there.
ОтветитьJust to answer the FAQ - the road is the N2, just north of Faro
