If it is made to be collectable, it is usually not worth much.
ОтветитьCoin advertisements on tv= scam
ОтветитьIf you don't want what the seller is offering then don't buy it. Problem solved.
ОтветитьUnbelievably, The rare coin scam has come to bullion. These newbies do not know history. Bitcoin the next scam, all aboard.
ОтветитьI would love to go through that coin collection
ОтветитьThis guy must LOVE what he's doing. I would never have the patience
ОтветитьWhat about my R2-D2 Collector's Coins?!
ОтветитьThis sounds like it’s being made out to be way more complicated that need be…
Take all the odd plated coins and sell them as one lot on eBay with a minimum.
Sell in one lot and move on.
Those uncirculated state quarters 2000 to 2008; coin dealers buy these? Thanks in advance jP
ОтветитьAt a show I did last month, I purchased an Eisenhower dollar set from a regular customer. Ike dollars become museum pieces, but I bought it because he's a decent, gentle man who just had cancer surgery. Sometimes, it's hard to say no when offered coins to buy.
ОтветитьPoor people were sold the sets by dealers only to be shunned, ridiculed, and ripped off when it comes time to sell. 😢
ОтветитьBURGLARS ❤️ this stuff. They'll sell rarities at face value. 😅
ОтветитьDamn, you’re bitter.
ОтветитьUnless your young you may never see your coins worth the premium you paid for them. Especially the certified silver ones.
ОтветитьSo basically don't start a coin collection, got it!
ОтветитьI hear you and agree on everything except paying less than face value.. how does that make any sense? They might as well spend them as is or roll them ans bring them to the bank...
ОтветитьThat’s why I just collect silver and gold coins💰😂
ОтветитьGod bless you for educating us it's a shame so many people got ripped off but hopefully this will stop most people from making these mistakes in the future and these companies go out of business or sell the stuff at a fair price for people to just have fun with!!
ОтветитьYou are very dismissive. Those collections in the nice presentation boxes are a great way to get a grandchild interested in numismatics
Ответитьits junk
ОтветитьHonestly you never know, this guy could’ve got these sets for a bargain. A little far fetched to think you’d be set with this, poor woman. Wish her the best!
ОтветитьThis was a great video!! 😊🤩
ОтветитьSadly, people would be further ahead leaving their money in the bank. Collections usually do not break even on what you paid... You could have gotten 4% a year compounded in a bank certificate or more... Profitable Collectables are usually 1% of a collection like this.
ОтветитьGet to the point
ОтветитьToo many people inherit grandpa's collection which has some silver and then some of what is basically ordinary pocket change dressed up in fancy packaging, and they think they have a tremendous treasure, when it's actually less than $100 worth of stuff.
ОтветитьThe person who sold this collection watching this video right now: 👁👄👁
ОтветитьIs it legal to melt down precious metal coins?
ОтветитьI have gone through a few similar collections for the relatives of old folks that had passed on and left their coins behind. Sometimes I have found a few gold and silver coins and sellable mint sets, etc. Usually though it was mostly pocket change, plated state quarters and Chinese fake silver coins.
I still stack silver and gold myself - but try to limit my collecting of numismatics now to Roman, Medieval Papal States and Spanish Colonial coins. Any time I happen to pick up modern base metal coins I turn them over as fast as I can.
I think it's wrong to sell that stuff on TV late at night. And it should be a sin to plate copper in gold, actually it should be a sin to put gold in electronics. I get the conductivity of gold. but dam
ОтветитьThat stuff would be good for a grade school class room. For education on presidents and American history
ОтветитьThere's a sucker born every minute
ОтветитьI never liked those Ike dollars, daddy used to get them for me but I didn't like them, I liked the Morgan and Peace dollars.
In more recent years I started getting silver bars for the silver, and a couple of 10 oz Wall Street Mint bars with the NYC skyline which I liked. A year ago I decided to sell the silver when a silver buyer came to town he paid nicely on the silver, but as far as it went he only paid SILVER value, he was going to offer only the amount the 10oz bar was in silver, and I took it back and kept it, it's worth quite a bit more than the silver value.
I own a physical coin shop. I love buying proof and mint sets. I pay 50% of greysheets and sell them on whatnot. They move.
Statehood quarters sba's sacagaweas and presidential dollars I pay face.
Ikes I pay $1.20.
Common wheats I pay $0.03.
Common buffalo/v-nickels nickels I pay $0.35. Same for common Indian cents.
Common world coins I pay $0.05 each.
I hate the coin apps and tiktok videos. They make my day hard. I have to explain to people why they don't have a $1000 error coin. It's a big waste of time.
You are Blessed 🙏
ОтветитьCommemorative scrap metal
ОтветитьYup, all of us little collecting people. A little of this goes a long long way...
ОтветитьDaniel I want your job! I'd be like kid in a candy store 😂 I love toned coins! Primo!
ОтветитьI understand your frustration, but you are in fact in the business of buying people‘s coins and coin collections. These are the things that you get paid for and make money doing as a dealer. It always seems that you are in such a horrible mood about it. I have watched and liked all and even couple of your videos where you were actually a positive person and you could tell that you love coins, but in most of them, you seem pretty fed up. The stuff may not be worth much to you and you may not make as much money as you wanted to off of it but you are throwing around somebody’s collection that they have had and added to for years as if it is all trash. Sometimes actions speak way louder than words Just a perspective from a fan.
ОтветитьThanks for your honest review. I must admit though that a dealer's position and lack of enthusiasm for the possibilities of that collection has left me a bit discouraged and less enthusiastic about my current collection. I get it. It's about time and money. I will continue to enjoy my coins for its entertainment value and less for the thought of having something valuable to pass down to my children.
ОтветитьThis is someone who collected quantities over quantity.
ОтветитьYes, people 10 collect what they want, whatever floats your boat!!! From a business point of view things are different, that's all!!
ОтветитьBig difference between stacking and collecting for numismatic value. If you want to stack buy straight bullion. Collecting is a whole other animal and you have to know what you're buying.
ОтветитьYou have a lot sir!
ОтветитьThe only coins that aren't worth face value would be a foreign coin and all the other pennies nickel times quarters they are worth a penny a nickel or a dime nothing less
ОтветитьI've got around 40 wheathead pennies from 1940 threw 1958 pennsylvannia mint, few denver mint and 2 1944 s mint wheat head pennies also got an 1899 german heller coin was curious how much i could realistically ask for them they are all fine condition can make out the images dates however unless the l in liberty being smooshed against the rim is an error i dont think any are error coins.
ОтветитьWith the 2010 box, id weigh each roll. In 2009, uncirculated sets had cents made with the original alloy. Wrong metal happens. Food for thought. Add to this, I've a box of 2021 cents that have loads of cracked skulls and doubled die obverses. Originally, had two boxes, but didn't make it through the first yet.
ОтветитьI have seen these scammers since the 1970 when I first started selling. Now in my 70s they abound more than ever. I run five online shops all with five-star ratings. I am Picasso's Premium Coins. I sell collector grade slabbed coins by NGC, PCGS and NGC. Unless you are a pro stay away from raw unslabbeed coins or coins in holders that are not one of the three major party coin services where you can look the coin up by its registration number.
ОтветитьCOOK ISLAND PROOFS,WHAT A JOKE !
ОтветитьI buy sets like this all the time.
