Okay so Scott’s given this time to shine but he waste this opportunity to demonstrate his lacking substance and familiarity of the basic facts.
ОтветитьI left college with a Bachelor's, Masters, a Doctorate, and over $200K in student loan debt. I have never cried about it. I have made the payment every month of my professional career. I agreed to the debt and it allows me to do what I wanted to do and provide for my family. I will pay off every dime of it.
ОтветитьCertain degrees should not be eligible for loans.
ОтветитьIt’s all about votes for the left. Not my fault attitude. Not my fault i didn’t pay rent, or mortgage, or car payment, insurance, credit card, now college
ОтветитьWhat about force them to work to pay for other people student loan, then deduct the paid amount from their own loan? Lol the true unlimited printing machine
ОтветитьDo colleges price-gouge their students? Maybe graduates should sue their alma maters.
ОтветитьExcept when you’ve paid more in interest than you originally took out and still owe more than you originally borrowed.
ОтветитьForbes you have a typo! grrrrr
ОтветитьIn essence "We live in a society where everyone is free to make their own bad decisions and everyone else must pay for those"
ОтветитьI could have a great return of investment on a new Ford 1 ton work. Hey, smiling fool, will you buy my 100000 truck?? No you won't. So why should we pay for your education
ОтветитьToo Funny! The left screams and rants about Trump paying money to Stormy Daniels and campaign money - BUT - then turns around of offers public tax money to pay off personal debt for votes. So, Soviet - So, very, very Soviet.
ОтветитьThey need to cap college tuition
ОтветитьSpeaking of loans when is the U.S. gov’t going to pay back theirs? Advice on financial matters when you and your constituents can’t balance a budget is ironic…
ОтветитьAbsolutely hilarious! So the numerous Republicans that got huge PPP loans, such as Marjorie Taylor Green, who got $180,000, and didn't have to pay it back are somehow exempt from this extreme Republican concern, perhaps because she's a Republican millionaire???
ОтветитьTim Scott needs to find out where his 'fiancee' which appeared only when he was running for president, and then conveniently 'disappeared' went! Maybe he should get together with Miss Lindsey to compare notes!
ОтветитьThe biggest problem is college costs period. They are a BUSINESS and want to make a profit. They waste so much money & to be honest college kids are spoilt with the facilities they have at most colleges. My son is at college - I pay 25% - my ex pays 50% and he pays 25% . Why should I not get a refund? Divide the actual $$ cost into hours spent in class it's frkn ridiculous - and he is at a lower cost college. The system is rigged!
ОтветитьThey ALL signed for their loans!
ОтветитьShocking how “I” statements flood the comments yet none focus on the purpose of PSLF which is to reward individuals who get educated and elect to work professions that contribute to society in a meaningful way. Such as teachers. Who historically have dealt with the instability of public opinion and worse off some of YOUR KIDS who go to school and cause chaos. Or maybe those lawyers who elect to work at the non-profit rather than that big fancy law firm who defends the ultra-rich. Or even social workers who service kids, veterans, elderly those who are chronically ill. There so much that goes into managing society but a lot of professions that feed off of it. Also it’s hypocritical of a lot! Of people to say that their tax payer dollars pay for anything when there are several professions if not all! That receive federal endowments. So let’s stop and put that education to work for good rather than greed and personal gain. This country has lots of issues but PSLF is far from being one of them.
These politicians have an agenda and it’s pretty clear. Lots of fluff words no actual facts.
Make these over priced colleges pay off student debt. They are the ones indoctrinating a bunch of idiots 😮
ОтветитьGet the GOVERNMENT out of Student Loan business the college students are NOT SMART to be allowed enough to make them.
Ответитьgraduated from college in 1986 with 28K in debt. Took 10 years to pay it off. If you take on the debt, you pay it back. Important life lesson.
ОтветитьShe's right when she says the gov't is a predatory lender.
Mr Scott is right when he says if you take a loan you pay it back and that the debt is transferred not canceled
The Goverment is piling on more and more burden on the tax payers with their out of control spending that our backs are breaking.
ОтветитьAll student debt is only 7 weeks of corporate profits for their future workforce. Why offer just tuition reimbursement for future education versus what it took to qualify for your jobs?
ОтветитьThe problem is you have needed degrees and career fields that don't have fair pay. For instance if you went to college to major in agriculture while a vital career field...the pay is paltry.
ОтветитьMaybe also cancel mortgages so people can stay at home n not going broke lol
ОтветитьI would vote for Mr./Senator Tim Scott to be my president.
ОтветитьNo sense in banking anymore lol bullshit america down the shitter
ОтветитьEverythings free folks!!! Lol
ОтветитьI agree people should pay back their student loans, however, we should place a bigger emphasis on the responsibility of taking out those loans to our 17-18 year old children just graduating high school and everyone is hyping them up about going to college so they don’t even think twice about taking out a loan. Second, we should have regulations for public university’s in which they can only charge a certain amount of tuition for a respective degree. The costs of a musical degree shouldn’t be the same as a business degree etc…. The schools should only charge in tuition a percentage of the average salary you will most likely receive once in the workforce. Price of education is spiking because universities know students will just get a loan to pay it. It’s a win win for the universities and it needs to stop
ОтветитьI know a 24 year old that landed a job making 92K straight out of college. She's a big advocate for student loan forgiveness. She just took a loan out for a $62K BMW. Maybe the taxpayers should take on that loan as well?
ОтветитьUnless you are a bank that gets a bailout out or a business that got covid money then fires the employee and pockets the cash or a rich depositor or a corp that gets tax breaks. 🤪
ОтветитьIf the administration wants to just go ahead and forgive loans on one hand, why is it continuing to issue new loans on the other hand?
This disconnect and boondoggle makes a case for getting rid of the Department of Education all together.
While I used to be 100% in the camp of "You signed the papers, you repay your loan like an adult", I then wondered what we would do if our grandmothers told us of a car loan they had just taken on for 35% or something. (The elderly often does get taken by lenders.) The whole town would be in an uproar!
So if we'd defend the elderly for being taken advantage of, why don't we have that same passion for protecting our youth? They're just as ignorant as the elderly in how the current world operates.
Student loans and credit cards are forms of predatory lending that something needs to be done about. Cap the interest rates, eliminate payment deferment whenever the borrower takes more classes (interest still accumulates),... do something.
Next time just get a PPP loan and they won’t tell you about being responsible and paying it back. Rules are always different depending on where you fall on the totem pole.
ОтветитьCommunity college credits don’t transfer to real schools that’s the issue
ОтветитьSure you take a loan you pay them, but why is the government bailing banks and big businesses. They take loans, don't pay them and the federal government bail them out and it's all "normal" no one complains. But for students loans, no no, they have to pay it back.
ОтветитьSo when are all those PPP loans gettin paid back?
ОтветитьColleges should be required to co-sign the student's loan. If the college can produce graduates with the skills to repay their loans, the colleges should be on the hook for the rest.
ОтветитьMy daughter and I split the cost of her college education and we have been paying it off for twelve years. It's nearly paid off. I'm proud of her. It's a travesty to expect us to pay other's student loans. I was a working single parent, and my daughter worked two jobs while in college. Stop whining and pay your own debt.
ОтветитьAsk those young people if they still can keep their cars if they finance a car loan and refuse to make payments?
ОтветитьI didn’t know what I wanted to do after high school so joined Air Force. While in the AF I realized that I wanted a college degree so I researched what schools offered the best bang for buck for the engineering degree I wanted then everyone hold on to your corn con hats I RESEARCHED WHAT I COULD AFFORD AND WHAT MINE DEBT WOULD BE upon graduation. Say @ how much debt I would have and made my decision as to what school(s) I would target.
This Biden administration is a disgrace and no one’s student debt should be paid off by anyone other than the person who took the loan out! For christ sake people you are adults and you need to be accountable for your actions. This is a simple concept why do so many not understand this!
No student loan forgiveness you borrowed money pay it back
ОтветитьThe only value of the college degree is the responsibility of paying back the loan
ОтветитьI dont want my loans paid for me. I want a solid economy so i can be paid my worth.
ОтветитьI want someone to take away my house payment.......yeah right!😵💫
ОтветитьWhen the tuition comes to fruition but your funds are out of commission.
ОтветитьHere is the issue with that argument, no one can file for bankruptcy if they made a bad financial decision. Moreover, you could repay the loan accounting for the inflation and you can still NOT file bankruptcy with the loans. You want to make it so that the government has the upper hand, then go for it, but imagine if your federal loan for your house and you needed to file for bankruptcy and you couldn’t put it in the bankruptcy and nothing else changes. That’s a major issue that needs to ve solve by Congress.
ОтветитьWhen you borrow money, you pay it back, with interest. Just like you pay all your bills on time. Which is why my credit score is over 860.
Ответить
