Well done Chioma. Your words and work speak for you. I’m inspired by you and others like you who work fervently to reduce mental health stigma and increase awareness in Nigeria.

Thank you for being so brave to speak up about your own experience of this, many cannot because of fear of being looked at differently. Most importantly, you have shun great light on this issue. Whether we like to believe or not, a great number of people suffer from mental health issues around these parts and the good thing is that it can be managed, treated but most times our first response and long response until things begin to spin out of control is, "God forbid", "this isn't my portion." Well it's actually nobodies portion, only that life happens, and circumstances occur which our bodies and minds react differently to. If we just see this for what it is, another treatable sickness, and actually be supportive of people suffering from it, we would be able to fight the issue of mental ill health a great deal. Well-done Chioma. 👌

Excellent. The same applies in the UK. There us STILL a stigma in the UK even though there is easier and relatively cheaper access here. I'm a British-born Nigerian and I heard that people with mental health issues tend to be outcast. Is this still true?
