this guy is just creating a bunch of new DIYers :D awesome
ОтветитьGreat video, thanks. I’ve had a similar situation but I was a young mechanic and rounded it off. Now I spray it with kroil the day before & put heat on it right before I wrench it.
ОтветитьBroke my 12 point socket on a tough drive shaft bolt. 10 mm wrench saved the day using the 12 point side and a hammer 💪
ОтветитьWd40?
ОтветитьLeverage is key and works at 80% of most Rusty situations in the event it doesn't you just set it on fire and make it gleaming red hot and it will bust loose it's better than having to drill out a broken stud or Bolt. And if it's that Rusty usually you're not going to be able to tap that out you're going to have to drill it and rethread it, which takes 10x more work. Work smart not hard is what old guys taught me
Ответить"Wrench extender"???? that's called another wrench.
ОтветитьYoung man you do a great job with common sense applications to tough situations I really appreciate the way you explain what you do . I have had many of these situations over the years you share it well thank you
ОтветитьStart loosening with 6 pts then use 12 pts.
ОтветитьWhat is the name of the tool on top of the tool?!?
Ответитьi got a set of flex head 6 point wrenches, why even get ratcheting 12 points?
ОтветитьThat feeling when it breaks loose, but doesn’t break… Nice!
ОтветитьCan u link your wrench extender ive been searching every shop looking for one they have no clue what im talking about
ОтветитьDon't waste your money on whatever a wrench extender is just use another wrench or a pipe
ОтветитьOne of the few channels that gives actual good advice. I would also recommend spraying some pb blaster too(if it’s heavily rusted). Just don’t do it with the exhaust piping hot(can feel an extreme amount of heat radiating from the exhaust manifold), stuff might catch on fire.
ОтветитьA Young man with 100 years of wisdom!
Your awesome!
Great job!
(Sorry if I repeat myself)
Here's how I would do it: Get a long steel punch. Start smacking it against an edge to make a good landing on it. Then turn the punch so it's hitting the landing you made. All the hitting will also loosen up rust. I have a few obscure VW wrenches, S shaped with open jaws... but they only come in metric.
ОтветитьWire brush first
ОтветитьWonder how long it took him to realize he was using the cheater to tighten at first😂😂😂
ОтветитьWtf is up with these comments? This isn’t some sage advice. Bro literally just said “use another wrench” like yeah I know
ОтветитьAlways helps!
ОтветитьGreat stuff, awesome tips. Thanks!
Ответить6 point wrench on 6 point bolt...one opportunity to do it right the first time.
ОтветитьLove all the AI generated comments. Nobody talks like that.
ОтветитьI like this guy the way he does his job easy to tell that he’s been doing this for quite some time and he probably learned from a clever mechanic also .. the tips he gave us ge doesn’t say or call them a trick but he will say here’s what you can do .. to my eyes that is stuff he learned with times 👍💪… keep doing what you know best buddy you are a excellent mechanic to my opinion
ОтветитьOdds are you won’t line up correctly. Buy 6 point ratcheting wrenches they saved my life on a manifold job like this
Ответитьone thing people seriously over look is the power of using blunt force to "bust" the nut / bolt loose. EVeryone just pulls or pushes as hard as they can to loosen fasteners.
Sometimes a few whacks with the minisledge goes a long ways.
The real trick is to see how fast you can break them lose after you shut it off ouch😂
ОтветитьDo that in the rust belt and you'll snap it...heat is an absolute necessity.
ОтветитьWhat should I do if I don't want to work on cars anymore?
Ответить$$ TIME IS SHORT Judgement is coming! But there is Good News... the Holy Bible says "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16) JESUS the Son, is the ONLY way to heaven! Admit you're a sinner on the path to hell! Just saying you're a 'good person' isn't enough. REPENT, change direction now and call upon JESUS for forgiveness of sin! BELIEVE in your heart that JESUS is the Son of God, that he came in the flesh, lived a perfect sinless life and then died on a cross for YOU! TRUST that God raised JESUS from the grave on the 3rd day and by FAITH accept the shed BLOOD of JESUS alone as payment for all your sins! JESUS promised to come back... TIME IS SHORT!
Ответитьsorento jc. all screws are like that:)
ОтветитьI still have all my father's wrenches I have six full sets of 6-point wrenches😅 those things are almost like gold nowadays
ОтветитьBut 6 point tools are more expensive. I'm all about cheap!
Ответитьwtf? so use a wrench for its designed purpose.. got it...
ОтветитьEver heard of a XL ratcheting wrench?!?
ОтветитьYou rule dude
ОтветитьA heat induction tool or mapp gas torch helps also, with Kroil penetrant or PB'laster.
Ответитьonly problem with 6 point wrenches is you lose half the positions of a 12 point. got lucky that the 6 point was able to get on that nicely. i've used the mac 6 points a fair bit and they struggle in tight spaces sometimes because you can only orient them in 6 positions vs 12
ОтветитьIf there is one thing i have learned from these reels, it's that i need a wrench extender 😂
ОтветитьI’d just use my 6 point wratchet spanner
ОтветитьAlternative poor man fix I just had to do for my oil pan last week. Same wrench, same 6 point, use a hammer. Use your finger on the open end for tension and lightly tap the body. Sure it might break, but this is for those ballin' on a budget peeps
ОтветитьYour ratchet is not a 12 point. that flexhead wrench is actually going to grab better than the 6 point wrench. because it grabs the edges of the bolt instead of the corners. I have a set of wrenches like that and i use them sometimes to specifically grab rounded off bolts, they work great.
Ответитьwannabe chris fix lol
ОтветитьWith exhaust, I would advise using a torch where you can. Even the small pencil torches. I’ve learned my lesson with exhaust bolts.
ОтветитьJust get that same pass through you brought out and put a flush socket through it
ОтветитьI bought a $6000 induction heating device just for this purpose! Every bolt I touch comes off like butter and also completely singes my fingertips!
ОтветитьSavage
ОтветитьBro's advice is to use the tool meant to be used in this scenario
ОтветитьA little bit of lube always helps them stubborn exhaust bolts
Ответить
