How did the wounded and sick horses of the Light Horse receive medical attention? Part 1

Some sad statistics there Steve, but I'm sure those hard working vets saved more horses than they lost, (I prefer to see the bright side), I am looking forward to the next video on how sick or injured horses were cared for.
I also have another question.
Of the 8000 horses you speak of in this video, were they all to serve as a troopers stead? Or were there ponies or other work horses among them to pull loads etc, or were the horses of the light horse harnessed into such duties?
