I have found my students who are rear-eye dominant do well with a straight shafted putter. No step or curved hosel. They simply aim better with no hosel, regardless of the head design. The ones who are front eye dominant seems to aim much better as a group and can do so with any putter style.
ОтветитьMommy bought me a putter 10 years ago 😅
ОтветитьHi Peter enjoying your Videos 👍, Putter fittings are they a good idea🤔, Can’t see how putting indoors on artificial grass (with stroke monitor) will help you hole a 3ft putt with left to right brake down hill with the wind blowing🤔, I think help with Green reading would be much more useful😃, and help you hole more putt’s Thanks Dickey 9hcp 75year Senior Golfer
ОтветитьDoes a mallet works better than a normal putter
ОтветитьStill a fresh video anytime - anywhere 🔥
Thank you Friend!
Thought you were Rick Shiels for a good 3 min
ОтветитьI like the vintage ping putters, lightweight and good feel
ОтветитьLOL 5000 subscribers , I guess you're a little over 500k subs
ОтветитьPeter… Peter……….Peter!! A boss of the moss can wield any weapon ❤
Ответитьwrong
ОтветитьA putter isn’t going to change how you putt.
Use whatever you have and get good with that putter
i can see getting some basic size set ups done but the rest is knowing your equipment and practice. I can take an old blade putter 40 years old and have success with it if i just practice and get use to the feel. $300 shaft is ridiculous in my opinion. A beginner golfer can use that money elsewhere in the kit like a couple good wedges that will come in handy. My Dad and I use to go to courses and play 18 holes on the putting greens (2 for par) and have lot's of free fun getting better. No matter how crappy i play i know i can always count on putting to keep me in the game.
ОтветитьI just switched from a mallet to a blade. For me, I felt like the mallet lacked touch. It literally just hammers through the ball. I was struggling with distance control. I prefer the blade style.
ОтветитьNice intro! Putting is definitely a crucial part of the game. Choosing the right putter design can make a big difference. Mallet putters with perimeter weighting offer more forgiveness, while blade putters provide a cleaner look but require more precise strikes. The neck and shaft design also affect the stroke. It's all about finding what works best for you. Keep practicing and improving that "boss of the moss" game! 👏🏌♂
ОтветитьThis is great. I have been using a blade (Wilson staff 8802) and this made me realise that the shape of the putter is the reason I miss more puts left then right. I need a more balanced putter for my "straight" back-forward stroke.
ОтветитьI prefer a hockey stick.
ОтветитьDoes a golf wormhole count?
ОтветитьAnyone have opinions about center shafted putters?
ОтветитьThe wand chooses the wizard
ОтветитьI've got an old handmade wooden putter and it's very cool... But super unreliable. I need an upgrade. My heart wants a blade but my game probably would be better with the mallet type. I just think most of them look so dumb...
ОтветитьI really didn’t know there was a difference between putters when I first started a few years ago I had a mallet struggles with putting I bought a blade and immediately was better again not great just because golf is hard but definitely is a difference
ОтветитьFreaked me out towards the end there Pete; I’m actually called Frank.
ОтветитьThe feel on long puts is much better with a blade would never use a mallet
ОтветитьBrillent Pete... thank you
ОтветитьLike
ОтветитьYeah putting is the most important part of the game I can drive 270 yards 190 with an iron to the green and then it takes me 3 shots with a putter. And my game is ruined
ОтветитьI’m that guy in the rabbit hole rn 😂
ОтветитьTo your early point, the driver is actually a lot more important than the putter for most high handicap players, which seemingly goes against conventional wisdom. If you look at how many strokes they lose per round on poorly struck tee shots, they far outweigh the strokes on missed putts. OB, water, bunkers, shanks, etc contribute significantly more strokes for those players.
ОтветитьSeven years ago i was desperate to find a new putter and headed off to a local golf shop here in Thailand where i was teaching English and struggling on the greens. Unfortunately i wasn't able to find what I was looking for but did find my future life partner who was the shop manager, happy days. PS I have since returned to the putter I found in a bargain bin in Australia more than 20 years ago, and it works fine. Cheers and thanks for all your excellent videos.
ОтветитьWhat a wonderful intro shot!
ОтветитьI've got the original oddysey white hot 2 ball which apparently I've had for 20+ years now. Same grip but it works fine and I want to keep it original. Tempted to change but it's got a special place in my heart
Ответитьwith such a successful channel you shouldn't have to beg for subs it ruins your look and ruins viewer experience
ОтветитьEVERYONE says to go get fitted!! ...its not true!! I went to my local shop for a fitting appointment and was told my clubs were fine for my skill level. ..to spend my money on lessons and practice. If you haven't spent three to five years lowering your score below 90 with lessons and practice.... a fitting might be a cash grab that you'll have to do again for the right set of clubs in a couple years after lessons and more practice.
ОтветитьPrivileges can be taken away…. I’d call it an upgrade for the mentally ill….. 😉😉
ОтветитьDo yourself a favor and remember that you can't buy a game. Go ahead and spend more on equipment if you want to, but you can't buy a game. It doesn't work that way.
ОтветитьI don't expect anyone would reply to this as the video is 2 years old, BUT. I have gone through around 7 putters, blade, mallet, spider, I find I tend to have better output with mallets but again I've been through a reasonable amount of golf clubs and brands. I have been considering a half mallet to maybe bridge the gap between the normal blade and the full mallet, what are opinions on a half mallet if anybody has ever used 1?
ОтветитьMy putting is brilliant, lucky, or sometimes awful, after reading Bob Rotella putting out of your mind, I have come to an understanding that your confidence and trust in your eyes /brain to read and execute the putt is key. Well worth a read.
ОтветитьWhen I bought my latest set of clubs (2016-17 Lynx Predators) I had a few putters to choose from with different head designs, I just stepped onto the indoor test green (carpet) and had a swing. First thing I was looking for was head twisting during the swing (got rid of two straight away because they dragged the head round), the next was the control of the swing and I found I hated the large mallet putter as it felt like I had less control over the pressure I applied and it hit "heavy". I ended up choosing a Lynx Predator P-04 blade putter as it just felt right (doesn't mean I'll get the ball in the hole ever time but it will give me a fighting chance).
ОтветитьMallet putters roll the ball better, less skipping and jumps off the initial collision with the putter. But mallet putter are harder to aim if you dont know the characteristics for that putter. Blades are easier to aim and hit straight and go where i aim the ball, but will sometimes skip after the collision. Thats been my exerience.
ОтветитьI recently bought a Callaway 11 putter with a centershaft. Before that I was actually using a center shaft, Wilson blade, so I hope the mallet will do good things for me.
ОтветитьI prefer a pool stick on the greens
ОтветитьI have two putters - one was free and the other ran me a total of $15. If new putters weren't such a colossal ripoff, I might consider one.
Manufacturing costs for that fancy graphite putter shaft are probably about $20...
The British Jason Kidd!
ОтветитьWent a from an ancient anser 2 to a scotty cameron Newport about 6 years ago. Still love that anser though
ОтветитьI have a John Reuter Jr. STD UP 5s Bulls Eye pre Acushnet with a wood shaft. Haven't been able to find another like it. Is it original or was this fabricated by a previous owner? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
ОтветитьNot to be the chess guy who compares everything to chess, but saying the driver is the most important club because of stats is like saying opening prep is the most important chess concept. That might be true for the highest levels, but that's only because their endgames are automatic. The same goes for putters: it's much rarer for a pro to miss a straightforward putt, and it's more likely that they put longshot or hard putts in the cup or near it. If you're 3-putting, the putter is the stick in your bag that's ruining your game
ОтветитьGrew up playing bullseye and classic ping models, after a 20 year golf hiatus I find it so hard to even look at mallets 🙈 ugly game improvement clubs 🥹
ОтветитьThe darkest of worm holes
ОтветитьWho's had a putter fitting, what was the experience like?
