They auto delete shows if you watch the content. Even if you don’t finish

They can give DVR free by overcharging for the primary service. Might as well pay for cable.

I think this is extremely reasonable. If you want to always be able to skip commercials, just watch the content before it's available on an On Demand service. Perfect for re-watching the game without spoilers, or niche single-airing television specials. Mostly anything else you were likely going to try to find online anyway, making the DVR recording redundant.

Maybe I'm just too young to be annoyed by this.

All I know is I wish Playstation Vue was still around. Except for those that want to archive tv (geez) as you could only keep up to 28 days they had it all. Sucks

Can you tell me why when I press pause on a recorded program, let it sit for a few minutes, and then hit play, it loses that function and tries to play a different program?

Can you tell YTTV to record only "first run" episodes? My Library is filling up with 10 seasons of "Gold Rush" I watched already.

Thought I could record Sesame Street on PBS (included in live channel lineup) so my kid can watch shows later. Had to add HBO just to have Sesame Street on demand. I dont get it.

How can I delete a recoding in you tube Tv after I watched it?

I HATE it. What pisses me off is for instance vacation was on. It has about half way through on live tv (paramount I think) I clicked add to library. Well it only records from where it was half way through. That's all fine but Vacation comes on again in 2 hours. It WILL NOT record or add that full version to my library because it's already there. Can you delete it? Nope. You can remove it from the library but it will still be available for the 9 month when it expires (the half of a movie). It absolutely sucks. They need to allow you to just delete shit if you don't want it and not have to do that crap from a computer. Thinking of going back to sling.

Pretty sure that’s not how they manage their cloud storage of your saved shows.

HULU: Speaking of DVR, yesterday I ordered the full Hulu experience (no ads, hulu + live tv, disney+, espn+, etc). I've used DVR for nearly twenty years and before that VCR, so I'm quite experienced. So, I set three shows to record. Just Go With It, PGA Tour, PGA Tour Champions. As Just Go With It was streaming I checked on it, and the indicator showed "Recording", and because I saw "Recording" I took for granted that all THREE shows would record. I got up this morning, and Just Go With It was NOT recorded, and the two golf programs did. I started playback on the golf programs and both programs stopped and were stuck in the first few seconds. I started a chat with Hulu and this is what she said "We do apologize but for the playback I can confirm that this is something our team knows about, and is planning to address. I don’t have a specific date to share with you as for when this will be resolved. But rest assured that our Team is doing its best to fix the issue as soon as possible."

They have a DVR that failed to playback two of two shows, and failed to record one of three shows, and they sell this as a feature? This is a consumer goods company? They "know about it" and they can't tell me when they'll fix it? They already took my money? Their response? They said "We'll credit you 1 week on your next billing cycle." Next billing cycle? I'm one day in, and it's the worst experience imaginable, and they are so thick, they expect ME to stick around for a second month?

I have DVR’d the Today show since installing YTTV over a year ago. Typically, I watch it, via the DVR, each morning; then my wife watches it later in the day…until recently. Now there is only one viewing of the show available. Once I watch it, it is no longer available. We DVR a lot of shows, but the Today show is the only one that we can’t watch again at a later time. Any suggestions?

This isn’t accurate. You can choose to watch your DVR version, or the on demand version. The DVR version allows you to skip commercials, regardless of the content’s existence in the On Demand library.

Not sure you’re actually downloading anything more than a shortcut to the movie server, seems like a big waist of data storage

What is the point (other than watching something when you want to) of recording if you cannot skip thru the commercials?

When I pause my live tv show it starts on its own after a few minutes. Is this normal or is there a setting I can adjust. I don’t really want to record the show just pause it for a while.

You’re kind of basically explained how that works but I myself thought I had to buy a DVR and thought I had to download it on my DVR to watch it I don’t understand how this works at all I’m over 65 I was around before the telephones are around so could you be dummy it up for me and by the way what’s your basic price because that is the bottom line what is the basic price cost and what does it include that would’ve been nice to have thank you

Can't understand why it would be annoying. So long as you can see the movie/series you recorded who gives a rat's butt where it comes from? Only problem is, if it is in the demand area you should still be able to skip commercials. If not, then can see the annoyance of the idea. That aspect has NOT been discussed in this video...WHY NOT?

If I set something up ahead of the start time no problem. But an event like a recorded ballgame has already started but is only 5 min. into it and I want to start watching it , it goes straight to the live action and wont give me an option to start at the beginning of the game. Is that possible, am I missing something?
