ОтветитьFreaking song has been stuck in my head since War.
ОтветитьI've got a new favorite bard!!
ОтветитьI remember this from War. Now I find myself missing passing out drunk and sleeping in the rain.

Ответитьevery time I want to sing this to myself i'm too drunk to do it
ОтветитьCan you do a purely instrumental version of this? I can't play the guitar but I really want to sing this for my friends at game.
ОтветитьDrink more boys!!! And or lads!!! And or Lasses... is that how we plural that???
ОтветитьYou are a talented man .Merry christmas from France
ОтветитьCome gather 'round me jolly lads, come 'round and gather nigh,
And I'll sing you all a chorus of my favourite lullaby,
It may not be a masterpiece and it don't have pretty prose,
But sit right down and lend an ear and I'll show you how it goes.
CHORUS (sung after each verse)
(And) It's Drink, Boys, Drink! Come and raise another glass!
We'll all be walking sideways afore the night is pass'd!
Forget about your beds, boys - no need to sleep a wink -
Just raise your glasses to the dawn, and Drink, Boys, Drink!
At eight O'clock me mates and I assemble at the bar:
A bunch of rowdy hooligans, we come from near and far.
We have a common purpose and one goal for which we strive:
To put away more alcohol than any man alive!
At ten O'clock we're going strong, it cannot be denied,
But I think my mug is broken 'cause there's nothing left inside.
I don't remember drinking it - I haven't spilled a drop -
But somehow all my booze just keeps escaping out the top!
It's a little after midnight now - I'm three sheets to the wind -
And every time I rise to get a drink the whole world spins,
Me mates are precious little help because they're scrubbin' men,
And they beat each other senseless since quarter after ten.
At two the barmaid fills my beer again, the lovely lass,
And I'd gladly raise a toast to her if I could find me glass,
It might be right in front of me, but I can't drink me fill,
Because I'm seeing two of it, and neither will sit still!
At Four AM the barman tells us all to settle down!
You can hear our drunk shenanigans from halfway 'cross the town!
We've got a heck of whiskey and our tankards stuffed with foam!
It'll be a bloody miracle if we can stagger home...!
Like the angry Eye of God, the sun rises with the dawn,
And it takes us out of slumber as we sprawl there on the lawn,
We stagger home to get some sleep and grab a brief respite:
We'll need every bit of strength to do it all again tonight!
Note the only word I'm not sure of "heck". I've listened to that line a dozen times and I'm not sure if he's saying heck or head (or something else) of whiskey.
I love this so so much. I love this song! Sir, you are fantastic. Thank you for making me smile so big, I dance around my house for hours.
ОтветитьSo uhhh, when are you gonna rerecord this, cause it this song fricking slaps
ОтветитьWhen I was studying in Japan, I met a group of salarymen out drinking. At one point, the topic of drinking songs came up. When they asked for an English song, this was the song that came out. They absolutely loved it.
ОтветитьLove the song! even though I'm not old enough to drink but old enough to go to war. ..
ОтветитьIt may not be a masterpiece or have pretty prose but this may be my favorite song of yours.
