The Harlem Globetrotters are actually quite skilled at basketball, but they are primarily known for their entertaining style, which blends athletic skill with comedy and theatrical performance. Historically, many of the players on the team were talented basketball players who could have or did compete at a high level. In fact, the Globetrotters were competitive in games against professional teams in the past, and even beat NBA champions, like the Minneapolis Lakers, in exhibition games in the 1940s and 1950s.

Their focus shifted more toward entertainment over time, but their basketball talent is still genuine. They combine impressive ball handling, trick shots, and athletic dunks with a showman’s flair.

Imagine they played in the NBA

I truly couldn't care less about the NBA or sports in general, but I would absolutely go to see the Globetrotters, Savanna Bananas, and other exhibition troupes.

I always thought games and playing were supposed to be fun. So-called "sports fanatics" made everything about "the win."

Could you imagine paying hard-earned money to go be angry? Because "your team" didn't win? Or the ref/judge/umpire made a call you didn't like? I wanna go home happy. I can stay home and find ways to be unhappy, if that's what I really wanted.

I knew I was a lot better at basketball in my head than in reality when the Generals wouldn't draft me out of college.

When I was about three when the Harlan Globe trotters were in Boston, and my mom got sent out to the court
by the Harlem Globetrotters and they took her purse, and my dad went out to the and then I was sad bc the left and then I started crying bc actually thought they were gonna take my moms purse, to her so then I ran out onto courtand then the Harlan globe

trotters had to get back to my seat and then she gave me a wristband one of the people that are on the Harlan Globetrotters

When I was a kid I thought the best players of each team got to join the globetrotters and made up the champion team 😂

I was lucky enough to have been born in time to watch Marques Haynes and Curly Neal so long ago, when the Globetrotter's shows were mostly basketball. Today, it seems it 's all stunts.
