DVC Fun Fact: When Old Key West first opened, it was the one, and only DVC property to exist, it wasn’t called Old Key West. It was called: The Disney Vacation Club Resort! Also, unlike regular Disney hotel rooms, DVC units aren’t guaranteed to be ready until at least 4pm, anytime before that is some bonus pixie dust! Awesome video!

Hi Kyle and Casey - We’re DVC members. OKW is our home since 1996. Olivia’s is a hidden gem - it’s always good. One of my favorite things to do is to sit on the balcony of our villa and watch comedy golf ( we laugh at all the bad shots ). OKW was the first resort to open after the quarantine in June 2020 and we were there opening day. It was a pleasure to spend a few days at the resort pool and talk with fellow members after being cooped up for 3 months. Thanks for the video. We’ll be back next year

While the original DVC property, it has the ambience and aesthetic of a laid back resort. I love the colors, scenery, ambiance and comfort of OKW. And the chicken at Olivia’s is the bomb. Glad you enjoyed your stay but mums the word on sharing this gem. 😉

I love this resort it may be old but it has a huge 1bedroom bigger than any of the other Disney resorts Kyle I thought you were going to stay at the 1bedroom the last time you stayed there you thought you were getting the 1bedroom. Would like to see you do a video on the 1bedroom I love the layout of it compared to the other resorts Yes they are more updated but these don’t feel cramped like the others My friend is a DVC Member and this is her home base and she gave my 3 nights there with my sister for my birthday and took the boat the Disney Springs and had my birthday breakfast at Olivia’s and dinner at the best restaurant on property Steakhouse 71 ❤

Disney acquired the H2O product formula and continues to offer the products under a Disney brand..... so maybe that is the H2O products under their new name.

We stayed at OKW soon after Covid. We took a red eye flight and arrived very early and knew our room would not be available, so we checked our bags with the bell staff. We were not able to get into our room until after 6pm, and they didn’t bring our bags so we had to go get them from the bell desk. They had decided to give two of my bags to another group, and the only way they were able to locate them was because I had AirTag. There are some buildings on the property that have elevators, cuz I had to use it for my scooter.

Kyle, I agree with you about the OKW studio not being my favorite but when open to the 1 bedroom it’s freakin’ HUGE! You and Casey must try the 1 bedroom one time. We love it. Plus we manage to get to Olivia’s every trip even when we aren’t staying at OKW. Always a must do.

OKW is a sleeper hit for sure! If you want a relaxing or, adults only Disney vacation it is a great option. That boat to DS is clutch for such trips! I took my Dad on a 3 night stay there last year and he absolutely loved it! We actually ate brunch at Olivia’s where you and Casey sat! So cool!

Kyle, as a history lover you’d love the namesake of ‘The Gurgling Suitcase’ Bar!
The name is referring to during prohibition folks would try to sneak alcohol in their suitcase through key west and the authorities would catch them smuggling alcohol by shaking the suitcases and if it gurgled they knew to open it! 🍻🍻

I like that Old Key West is quiet but I would expect a bit more as well from mamDeluxe Resort. If it’s priced right then that’s ok. It’s in a good location as well. Thank you for showing us this resort!

It is definitely nice to have a couch and they need a bit of an update, but OKW rooms are still my favorite-especially the one and two bedrooms, but I stayed in a studio for a few days in Sept and loved it too.

I loveeee old key west. We always stay in a two bedroom and it’s awesome. The balconies in the 2 beds are huge and they do have some nice hardwood flooring in the main living spaces. Jet tubs and a door leading out to the balcony from the living room and the primary suite!

Great vibes my family did our last family reunion there 🥰 My Dad and siblings kids girlfriends and boyfriends . So you’re right great for large groups.What a great time 15 years ago my Dad passed in 2021(Covid) but really enjoyed the trip down memory lane . 🥰 ❤❤

I've always wondered about this resort. It looks very chill. And the perfect spot if that's what you're going for! I love that have an option to catch a boat rather than the buses. So that's fun! Also - Casey's Chicken is called the Souther Most because there's an actual sign in the real Key West that marks the "Southern Most" point of the United States. Just a little fun fact. Thanks for sharing this with us! It's always nice to see a staycation!

Turtle Pond is the best area at Old Key West. You can see EPCOT's big fireworks from the pool.

You have a house in the area, so why stay there.

This is my favorite resort for extended stays since I always go for a 1 bedroom.

Nice video Kyle. We're DVC Members (OKW is one of our home resorts) and you're not correct about check-in time being 4PM at the latest. With DVC check-in starts at 4PM and can be much later than that as well. That said, they do turn some rooms around sooner and allow you to check in earlier if you're already on property. Before Covid, we usually received our rooms before 4PM - now we'd say its about a 50/50 chance if we've checked-in earlier. If you don't check-in early and you only wait for the text - you'll get the last rooms turned over for that day. DVC works a little different than the normal cash hotel rooms - hope this helps. As for the OKW studio, it's not our favorite. Once you stay in an OKW Villa, you can never go back to a studio as they're the largest DVC Villas on property and they have the a super largest patio! We just got back last week from our first stay at Disney's Hilton Head and those Villas are great as well! Oh yeah - Olivia's is such a hidden gem, so please keep it a secret! lol
