Hey Chris, I'm having a deja vu. Wasn't there a very simmilar rumour one ir two years ago, precisely AGAIN at the time of the Beidahe Meeting? And that it proved false, with Xi only coming back strengthened by more purges and backed-by-dirt denunciations of rivals as corrupt? It's always during this time of the year. Sounds like counterintelligence or disinformation to me. Or like we especulate last time was really about: baitijg people inside the party that would be willing to take advantage of that or even testing the people's reaction.

I lived through the transformation of East European communist country myself. It is painful long and horrible process. Totaliarism feeds me with disgust. China is the wold's number one enemy.
