Hey Aristotle and Einstein, listen and I’ll learn you up. The title Boss of Bosses was fought for in the Castellamarese War and both top bosses were killed pursuing that. Luciano ultimately won and decided that title would certainly get a Boss of Bosses killed. Hence five families with no tribute paid outside those five. The Commission (5-7 bosses) was formed. No boss to be killed unless the Commission agreed. Anastasia killed his boss w/o permission and he paid the price some years later. Paul Castellano was killed w/o Commission approval and Frank DeCicco paid the price. The bomb that killed DeCicco was meant to kill Gotti. With the possible exception of Genovese, no one has ever wanted to be Boss of Bosses. It means one’s days are numbered.

ОтветитьThe thing that I didn't like was how there was no mention of Gambino organizing the sting, drug-related, that got Genovese arrested and convicted on narcotics charges in 1958, thus sending him to a federal prison for 15 years. At his age, it was essentially a life sentence. Gambino, Costello in retirement, Lasky and Luciano in exile were all involved. Tom Eboli took over instead, and ultimately stopped listening to Genovese's orders from behind bars and started doing his own thing.
ОтветитьIt all started to crumble when Angelo Bruno, the boss of Philadelphia and good friend of Gambino, was murdered in front of his house in 1980
