My dog needed an emergency surgery last week. Dang!! It's expensive, I'm so glad to have an emergency fund to be able to get him fixed. My heart dropped when we went over the bills, but I don't have the heart to just let him die and in a lot of pain. 😢 Everyone needs to have an emergency fund.

I conditioned myself as a kid to hate spending money on what I want. Financial freedom is the byproduct of delaying gratification. The end results pays off.

One day a long time ago I began thinking, “I have no problems in my life that simply having more money wouldn’t solve.” From there I realized that means having more “options.” Get a taste of that feeling after having your first $10-$20,000 in a bank account…that’s when you know that you can absolutely be in control of your future. Thank you for your time and productions, Alice.

Don’t be confuse buying the dip in a bear market, with guaranteed future returns. Just because that company is down 60%+ from ATH does NOT make it a sound long-term investment. Make sure you’re investing in great companies. kudos to MAUREEN COOGAN HOLSENS☑.

Cons of aggressive saving is, When you turn 50, you might regret having enough money but not having enjoyed life while you were young—now you have the wealth, but not the energy.

Learning to say no is so true. I have actually structured my life where saying no is on autopilot and my savings has ballooned as a result. This took years and you have to keep saying no but I got comfortable with this.

I just realized that with my next paycheck my sinking funds will be just €100 short of my first 10k. And i started this journey in January with just 122 eur leftover from december. (I still have student loans but thats another story)

I dare you to read Diamond Riches Formula by John Barth and not feel like you’ve unlocked a whole new level of financial success by the end of it. This book is pure gold.

i’ve had 10k,15k and 20k at different times in my account. If you have discipline you will get the money back if you have done it before.

because i spent about a year and a half focusing on paying off my ~$13k in credit card debt, i didn't realize how successful i had gotten at saying "no" because my bank account wasn't really changing. once they were paid off, i really started to notice a difference and be proud of myself for my discipline. my cards were paid off officially as of around january, and i just hit 10k in savings this month!

Most people can save 10k without changing any real habits. I would still think 100k is more telling of your financial habits.

I currently only have $2k USD in my bank account (which is a lot in my country tbh), it triggers me to save more..

Were you financially supporting anyone, besides yourself, during the time you saved that first $10k? Also, was anyone helping you (family) financially during that time?

TLDR. consumerism is a poison to your current state of life and your future. YOU MUST CHANGE YOUR MINDSET and live on budget to outfight paycheck-to-paycheck lifestyle. then you can easily get to 10k savings in a HYSA as emergency fund, and everything else after that will get started
