The first time I used a qwerty keyboard was on my first phone which it was a blackberry but it was a great experience to have physical keys than typing on a screen.

It sucks that so many phones with keyboards are popping up these days yet they're all designed to be used with two hands. Wish somebody would release something like the Blackberry Bold 9700 just with modern specs :(

Blackberry that was dropped into a clean water toilet and still worked. The new Razr would be great if it had a 'proper' keyboard. I still have only hd # Blackberry, the 8500 lasted 12 years in more than 5 countries and then the battery died. My Classic is still going, yes if wish the Apps were better, yes I wish the camera was better, etc, etc. However as it fits in my shirt pocket vibrate is only needed. I don't use it for films etc I use a TV screen or go to the cinema. I use it for communication. I would love to have an update version. Heyho.

I've been waiting to see if there will be a Key3, since I have a KeyONE, but the Key2 was incompatible with Sprint. So, since BlackBerry seems to be going under, this looks like a nice alternative, when I need to make the jump. Maybe there will be a follow-up by then.

I miss my Samsung Ultra Transform, it was kinda small but texting was a breeze, researching was a lot easier and it was just a fun phone to have. It reminded me of my Blackberry RIM 950 but just plain better in every way. Plus I can put my own SD memory card in it so I saved a LOT OF SHIT

My rooted HTC desire z overclocked from 800 hertz to 1800 and owning every new phone in a phone support center 2½ years after release <3 or draining the battery in minuttes just with the flashlight :D betting against the Iphone girls that i could type faster than them and winning every time !

Honestly keyboards are expensive simply because of the material cost involved.
However these guys design is great. Perhaps with midrange android devices becoming more and more affordable and streamlined.

not really nostalgia, i only bought one way after it came out but i fucking love the nokia n900, the design is in my opinion the most beautiful a smartphone has ever been, it represents an era when there was a real possibility that a more open linux platform was going to be a main player in the smartphone operating system space and thanks to the fact that it's supported by the mainline linux kernel it's still fun to play around with, despite the hopelessly outdated specs. though the most usable smartphone with a qwerty keyboard i've ever had was probably the Motorola droid 4, it looks terrible, but the keyboard was probably objectively better than that of the n900 and it's still sort of fast enough for messaging and web browsing.

Thank you, though I see it's already old. Why oh why can not anyone make a phone with a physical keyboard that is up to date. I know so so sooo many people that struggle to type on the virtual keyboards. I'm still fumbling and terrible at it, even after years. Sometimes I use voice to text but that's not always possible and it still mangles the words. It would also make things a lot more accessible for a lot of people, for example those with problems of numbness in the fingers. Or with vision issues as someone mentioned. A billion years ago I had a sidekick. It was pre-smart, and though it technically could surf the web it was clunk af at it. But the experience of sending text, email or chat, was far far better than the current phones. I could type as fast on it as on my laptop.

Reading the comments reminds me of nothing more than the Pokemon phenomenon. At least with Pokemons, there was no provision for being continually interrupted with callers excitedly informing you of how many french fries they just ate.
