I use bleach and do this.
ОтветитьVery interesting. Never even thought about using dental cleaning tablets but it makes sense. Thank you for this information.
ОтветитьDenture tablets work well, but powdered dishwasher detergent works well also. I know, we are all using pods now, but if you DO happen to still use the powder (like me), then it works really well for cleaning insulated mugs, coffee pots, thermoses, etc. Works best if you can use near-boiling hot water.
ОтветитьThis was way too much work, I'll just drink from the toilet.
ОтветитьI was one of the first people to figure this out, and I have been passing it on for decades. I was working in a gear shop in college and water bladders had recently hit the market. Camelback had expensive cleaning tabs to sell with the bladder. We tested one out in the shop, and I realized it was the same stuff my grandma used for her dentures. I went to the grocery down the street and we tried them out. The same results for pennies.
ОтветитьThank you, this would be very handy while travelling with my reusable bottle.
ОтветитьI just wash them after every use just like every other utensil and other kitchenware. Most important is to dry them well (if you put them away with a few drops of water in them it won’t go wrong every time but it will go wrong eventually.)
ОтветитьHalf is enough?
ОтветитьSince there’s not enough plastic in my diet, i love using plastic straws with an oversized, bulky thermos! 😅 💀
ОтветитьGreat video. Why not just dish soap in the sink with other dishes? I’d love to know your thoughts.
Love what you’re doing here brother. 🤘🏼
Can I use those tablets for things like a keurig water reservoir or my robot vac mop dirty water reservoir? The latter gets quite gross after a week & a tad smelly.
ОтветитьGeez what a hassle! Use a paper cup! And what ridiculous an extremely unnecessarily oversize cup!
ОтветитьWell done! Thank you.😊
ОтветитьMy problem is it's impossible to find ones that aren't mint flavour in the UK
ОтветитьYour videos are very clear and to the point, with excellent video quality. I just subscribed immediately!
ОтветитьAny one know if the dental tablets will take out coffee stains on the inside of the ones you use for coffee?
ОтветитьOmg I love it
ОтветитьThank you so much for a very good demonstration. I just followed along and I feel so much better. I have not done this to this detail ever I don’t wanna think that my water was disgusting but it might’ve been. I know better I’ll do better. Thank you.
ОтветитьHey, where did you get your drying rack from?
ОтветитьHow often should we clean water bottles this way?
ОтветитьI'll need to check out the dental tablets for my plastic water bottles. I've used mouthwash when I wanted to do a deeper clean on them, but it kinda works into the plastic and then my water tastes a bit minty for the next several uses. But the dental tablets should in theory have even less of a taste and more importantly be even more effective at cleaning while still disinfecting
ОтветитьThe dental tablets on most of the parts is fine. Where I have significant concerns is the Dawn Powerwash. As effective as that stuff is I cannot believe they won’t issue cancer warnings, hormonal issues or something in a few years. The stuff burns my nose while using it and makes me sneeze. And washing the straw with it, a porous surface, I do not believe a quick rinse adequately removed the residue it absorbs. Maybe some hydrogen peroxide (cheaper) instead, but I am not using Dawn Powerwash.
ОтветитьI just use powdered dishwasher soap in mine. And hot water. Just buy powdered dishwasher soap for your dishwasher and there are hundreds of other uses for it, plus it works better on dishes than tabs and is cheaper.
ОтветитьIncredible
ОтветитьMine only has water in it. You said water bottle but it looked like it had soda in it. lol Ya I use soap and water.
ОтветитьHmm, how about just put the whole mug in a container so the inside/outside are both cleaned by the tablet? Great idea, especially for cleaning pn the go.
ОтветитьGood Stuff! Thanks!
Ответитьgeesh your make to much out of this and over thinking. Take itall apart yes then take each part and scrub it clean with hot water and soap such as dawn and your done. Let dry and put it back together. Dude please clean the buttom of you stanley it's dirty, all that dirt in the grooves nasty.
Ответить#1 tip: There's double walled insulated tumblers for $10 with less moving parts to clean.
ОтветитьI don’t have a Stanley — they’re absurdly expensive.
I purchased a great stainless steel bottle with a 3-in-1 lid. (Bear with me on this detailed description, because it’ll make sense at the end.)
It has a straw in it and two openings in the single lid. One is smaller and that’s what you use to sip from the straw. The other is wider and you use that to drink from it just as you would — for example — a 20 oz bottle of soda. Its description on Amazon says the one lid lets you both sip and chug.
It has a cap that closes tightly and can be locked in place. The handle does double duty as the lock. The lid must be opened by a press of a button, and the lock/handle is for when you put it down. If it’s knocked over, the cap can’t open accidentally. It’s the most efficiently designed water bottle I’ve ever had.
It keeps water ice cold for 24 hours, longer if you put a few ice cubes in it (but only a few unless you’re going somewhere really, really hot, otherwise, it takes forever for the ice cubes to melt.)
Despite having all those features, the bottle has only three parts: the lid, the straw (which is attached to the lid), and the cap. The lockable cap and handle are on the one-piece lid. When I wash it, only the straw needs to be removed from the cap. Very easy, but I am concerned about not rinsing all the soap out.
I do have one question: is there a reason not to put the straw in the bottle when you put in the denture-cleaning tablet? Instead of scrubbing it with soap? I only use water in mine.
Thank you so much!❤
ОтветитьFigured out it wasn’t my bottle but the ice from the maker that wasn’t clean.
ОтветитьBaking soda and hot water work just as well. Baking soda and white vinegar. Or hey, good old soap and water.
ОтветитьGood idea but the parts on my water bottle don't come apart. Will keep this in mind when buying my next water bottle.
ОтветитьHow often do you clean your bottles like this?
ОтветитьAwesome thanks❤
ОтветитьNah, I Scrubs my shit, no rinse. Sticking to my antibacterial dish washing soap and dry immediately
Ответитьdenture tabs?
ОтветитьI use dental tablets to clean flower vases, too.
ОтветитьExcellent video! Thank you for info! 👍
Ответитьso put some soap in it and wash it? its that simple. dish soap works wonders. this is so dumb.
ОтветитьA third of a cup of bleach. Put the cover on and shake it good. Let it sit for ten minutes, shake it again. Then rinse thoroughly.
ОтветитьI thought the intro tossing it into your hand was fake at first and had to watch it 3 times over lol. Smooth work sir!
ОтветитьThat bottle is for sure made for the American market , easy to take apart even a European 2 year old can do it . But for a adult American put that back together again , i think they would need some help from a few friends or call a helpline . 🙄🙄🙄🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕
ОтветитьWould this work for a hot drink cup??
ОтветитьGreat video
ОтветитьAn alternative to dental tablets are baby bottle tablets which can be found in every local supermarket.
For a small neck coffee thermos, Cafiza powder or tablets are the way to go with little to no touch.
Designed to dissolve/lift deep coffee stains from impossible to reach areas like the backflush pipes in espresso machines.
It's also amazing for cleaning pans :)
