Can you show how you organize daily homeschool and things? I’ve tried a million ways and haven’t found a solution yet that really works for us
ОтветитьSo helpful! Thank you for sharing.
ОтветитьI love your routine printout, would it be possible to share the blank so we could fill in our own?
ОтветитьWe have also used the Notgrass star spangled story a few years ago. Im using it again this next year now that my kids are older and I’m looking forward to seeing what they remember from it. I’m adding Notgrass our 50 states this upcoming year, which I’m excited about. I like the look of those musical multiplication facts, I think I might need to get that for my kiddo.
ОтветитьWell done.
ОтветитьHi Erin!! Watching this for the second time... Just wondered if you will use the "Our Star-Spangled Story" for four years in a row (Grades 1-4) or will you only do it for one year and then rotate it back in for your younger kiddos later? Thank you for sharing!! :)
ОтветитьWho is the Bible curriculum by? Thanks! Love watching your beautiful family:)
ОтветитьThank you so much for explaining what works for your family!! We started Abeka's k3 with our little one this year just to start really basically introducing letters and numbers to 15 and Bible. Just 30 minutes or so per day. I would love to know how you juggle your school time with younger ones who are not in school yet. What do they do while you are doing school to keep them from distracting? Next year I'll have a k4 and a 1 year old who is very active already. 😂
ОтветитьLove A Beka for phonics. Mom of nine and have been homeschooling for 18 years. We gravitated towards a gentle Charlotte Mason focus on learning, heavy literature and a self-propelled education. I always tell my kiddos that I won’t be able to teach them everything, but they know our large, classical family library well and can find answers to questions/research quickly and efficiently. After 5 kiddos, my philosophy became very self-propelled as far as learning and my kiddos love it! Many blessings Paine family! You’re doing a great job!!
ОтветитьWhat do y’all do for art? Curious to know! Saw it on the calendar!
ОтветитьYour video is so helpful. My daughter is in grade 2 and we will doing Abeka Academy. I thank you for all your tips. You are very beautiful as well ❤
ОтветитьWallbuilders has some One Room School House vidoes that are great for American History, too.
Ответить😍👸
ОтветитьWho edits your videos? I'm looking for someone myself. Thx! I used to homeschool my littles over a decade ago. Your channel reminds me so much of my favorite parts of that season. Blessings!
ОтветитьThank you for sharing how you organize your day! I had an idea in my head that we needed to organize our day into blocks but without actually sticking to a specific time table and I couldn't for the life of me figure out what that would look like until I saw your school routine. It was the exact visual layout that I needed and had been praying for!
And Thank you for sharing Abeka with us too. We have tried several different things over the last few years before landing on Memoria Press, Saxon & Math With Confidence and they have been fantastic for our family, but I've always kept Abeka in the back of my head. I never thought to look at just using their Bible class though, I'm going to have to check it out now!
She also go t9 public school
ОтветитьI ordered the multiplication set, musical multiplication. I can’t wait.
ОтветитьYay! I see “Our Star-Spangled Story” That is great history!
ОтветитьThanks for sharing! We LOVE the good and the beautiful and our kids are always excited for it too! The musical multiplication is the best! 🫶🏼🥰
ОтветитьAs a fellow Homeschool mom I love this! I can highly recommend Master Books if you are looking for something to try! We love them so much. Biblically bases and solid curriculum. We especially have loved their science and history. I used to use Abeka and even taught private school with Abeka, they are great, but they were not a fit at all for my family.
ОтветитьWhat is the name of the bible curriculum you talked about and where can i buy it
ОтветитьLove Notgrass history!!! It's so user friendly... I've been homeschooling my son for nine years, we started using Notgrass three years ago and LOVE it! You may love Masterbooks for science in the late elementary/middle school years, Erin. Check it out...they are set up similar to Notgrass curriculum.
ОтветитьI am so glad for all the homeschooling families and the hard work and time it takes. I lived In Guadalajara Mexico for 3 years and for a portion of it I taught 3rd grade to a classroom of missionaries children. It was an honor. I am completely mortified about public education now and it breaks my heart that they have to go there.
ОтветитьHi guys! Love you both and all you do 🙌🏼❤️
Homeschooling mama to 4 littles ages 7,6,4 and 2. I would love to incorporate the Bible video that you had mentioned, but was wondering if each of your kids get a different level or do you all start at the beginning and work your way up? I want to get an age-appropriate level for all of them but don’t want to have to spend $100 on separate ones.
❤️❤️❤️
ОтветитьI start my little ones with Abeka too and then switch to The Good and The Beautiful for elementary and then piece together curriculum based on the child for the older elementary! This is our 10th year homeschooling I still love learning and hearing from other homeschool mamas!
ОтветитьHighly recommend the good and the beautiful as an option as your kids age out of Abeka.
ОтветитьI love seeing what other moms do in their homeschool! Thank you for sharing. We switched my 3rd grader to BJU this year. The videos are great.
ОтветитьWe did Evan Moor's science units as a group up till grade 4. At grade 4, the experiments didn't always work, and we switched to Abeka. Not my favorite, but solid. We used Story of the World as our group history through grade 8. But we're trying Notgrass now with my high schooler. For the older grades, we love Rod & Staff Language Arts and Reading.
ОтветитьI too am In my 5th year of homeschooling my children. We use Abeka as well. I agree that they do provide a lot of extras that can be overwhelming. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one feeling that way. History with Abeka does seem a bit dry so I may pursue other history books as well.
ОтветитьWe have 4 kids and we homeschool them all. We started with Bob Jones because friends of ours recommend it and our kids loved it from the start and we stayed with it. 2 of ours kids graduated grade 12 already .
All the best for your new school year.
The Good and the Beautiful was created by a Mormon.
ОтветитьQuestion: where can I get the blend books for phonic for my kindergarten?
ОтветитьI am curious how you can afford all the materials when it can be pushing a couple thousand a year.
ОтветитьI loved homeschooling! My daughter took ABeka (video homeschooling) all the way through her kindergarten and to graduation. She actually went to Florida and graduated with the other homeschoolers that wanted to participate in that ceremony. She loved it. She is now a college graduate and had no trouble in college, she's very smart and did a great job. You seem to be very organized and have such a great plan! Good for all of you! God bless you too!
ОтветитьMy daughter needs to be homeschooled for 7tn grade and not sure what curriculum to use
ОтветитьWe loved Abeka and BJU but we fell in love with Sonlight and IEW
ОтветитьI just finished my 24th year and last year of home educating our 3 kids..I’m so glad for the opportunity that I had to educate all three k-12 and we used ABEKA as well the whole 13 years but I agree about the busy work..I loved all my one on one time with each one even though many days or seasons were not a cakewalk that’s for sure but biblical education was most important to us as well. I agree, their Bible is awesome. My boys actually always loved their history teachers with ABEKA and my daughter enjoyed the English teachers..I one on one taught until 7th grade and then we did the Video program 7-12. I would recommend you give their history another chance in highschool.
ОтветитьWe do school very similar except science ... abeka bible dvds, abecka main subjects and Notgrass history.... I like the science idea tho..
ОтветитьI love seeing you in such bright and cheerful colors! It really works with your bubbly personality. 🥰
ОтветитьLove this, homeschool content always helps me!
We used abeka for 1st and 2nd grade, now in our 4th year (1 3rd grader and 1 preschooler) we use Masterbooks! So much more engaging and very little busy work ❤ we use it for all subjects!
Going to look into the musical multiplication, thanks for mentioning that!
May God continue to bless yours & Chad’s efforts. We’ve completed our homeschooling journey now. However, as I look back I remain grateful for the privilege. It truly is a blessing, and the years (as you no doubt realize) fly by…
ОтветитьI teach 3rd grade using all Abeka. Bible and Math are my favorite things to teach. The new 3rd and 4th grade Abeka science and history is worth checking out. It is totally redone and lots of fun to teach. My students love both classes.
ОтветитьShirley English is a great writing curriculum. I’ve used it as a homeschool teacher, with students in China and my current 4th graders.
ОтветитьI'm a big fan of the tuttle twin books & my son loves them.
ОтветитьCONGRATULATION, YOUR BABY N#6, BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO !!! JESUS BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IN JESUS NAME AMEN, ALLELUIA ALLELUIA ALLELUIA!!!! THE GLORY OF GOD ONLY !!! ❤❤❤❤❤.......👼❤
ОтветитьAs long as you keep learning fun, your kids will advance in their studys
ОтветитьScience? History? Geography?
ОтветитьThank you so much for sharing!
We use all of The Good and the Beautiful but I’ve been looking for Bible and History so I’m going to take you up on your suggestions.
Could you do a video on how you discipline your children and chores that they do? They are so well behaved and I’m needing some inspiration for my rowdy 3 year old.
Also, could you do a bluegrass and hymn cd recommendation video? I love your bluegrass songs in your videos but I have the hardest time finding similar ones when I look them up.
Thank you so much for all the work you put into these videos. You’re such an inspiration to me!
Erin, I've been homeschooling for seven years now, but I've been getting more and more overwhelmed with adding more sweet littles into the mix. I watch this on Sunday, and first thing this morning implemented several ideas you shared. They were answered prayers. Thank you!
