F-4E Phantom: Killed by a Hacker #f4phantom #hacker #ecw #1440p #dcsworld [DCS 2.9.5.55300]

Over the last month, I've been flying the F-4E Phantom to gain proficiency with it. I was flying in formation with another F-4E as we were conducting ground strikes along the front line. On EWR, we see there's a Mirage F-1 heading towards us at 40,000ft. We pay him no attention since we assume there's no way he can hit us from that high, let alone pick us up on radar in the ground clutter.

Around eight miles out, I look up at him and see something flash on my screen. Next thing I know, I'm tumbling out of control and have to eject. When I look at the chat afterward, I'm shocked by what I see. A Mirage F-1 killed me with AMRAAMs on a Cold War 80's server. His in-game name was Enigma. There were so many things wrong with that. Not only was the time period wrong, but the Mirage can't carry AMRAAMs. I assume it's just a glitch, but I report it to the admins.

Turns out he was hacking the game and impersonating Enigma. He was promptly banned afterward from every DCS server. I hope he enjoyed his five minutes of fame while it lasted.
