Tips to consider to keep your home and your mind calm at Christmas, but also in keeping with the values of minimalism.

Calmness doesn't also have to equal all white and bland. Xmas can also be cozy as a minimalist. But there are things we can do to attempt to keep it clutterfree and limit waste. Moreover, reduce stress around this time of year.

This largely involves thinking about issues before we spend and thinking about past mistakes. Here I share Tips - on things to consider about what we buy, in terms of decor or gifts. Thinking about how they may be stored in future or if they are practical, sustainable, intentional or consumable. As someone who is also an imperfect eco minimalist I try to consider all factors of sustainability. Factors that are also limited to my own resources. Therefore, I feel they are realistic, in terms of longevity and durability.

I consider materials, cost effectiveness in terms of energy, production etc. For instance, There are some natural lights I have bought this year that are actually more cost effective and eco friendly than constantly buying my soy, coconut and vegetable wax candles. After all, natural tea lights still need to be produced and replaced and shipped to me. The amethyst lights on the other hand are made once, with low energy led lights and will hopefully last an along time. I discuss how we can create warmth and coziness at xmas whilst not creating a busy hectic and cluttered environment.

Which is also to be considered in what gifts we may choose to get people. In that, if we value a clutter-free home we should also not seek to add pointless clutter to anothers persons home. So should contemplate intentionally what we choose to gift or give people at xmas. We can even make our own gifts and decor, to add to the simple sustainable and intentional living practices... So much is possible with just a little careful extra attention. So that we can all enjoy a cozy clutter free but calm minimalist Christmas.
