Saw them play the Angels
ОтветитьI still have numerous baseball cards of Pilot players such as Don Minchner and Tony Harper and was upset when they moved to Milwaukee. This is a good video of what happened to the team.
ОтветитьUh...they became the Milwaukee Brewers
ОтветитьThat first stadium was literally...Sick.
ОтветитьBoth the Brewers & Pilots have had amazing looking uniforms.
ОтветитьIn the 1968 Expansion Draft, The Pilots took a pretty good player in the name of Lou Piniella but traded him to KC just before opening day in 1969. He came back to Seattle as manager for ten seasons.
ОтветитьThose unis were tight.
ОтветитьI'd like to see you do a video on the Jersey Knights of the WHA. They played only part of the 1973-74 season. They played in Cherry Hill at the Cherry Hill Arena which probably made Sick Stadium look like a palace.
Ответитьtoilets caused their demise
ОтветитьApparently they didn't 'take off'.😅
Ответитьsome mother fucker bought and moved em - we know alot about that kind of shit up here
ОтветитьI'm wondering how much is a Seattle pilot's home /road uniform mint condition worth & memorabilia From that 1 season in Seattle ? As a history buff & all Wisconsin sports fan this was a good listen
ОтветитьNot a mention of Jim Bouton and his groundbreaking book 'Ball Four'.
ОтветитьIf not for Bud Selig, Milwaukee would never get another baseball team after the Braves moved to Atlanta.
ОтветитьCould you do a video about the down fall of the Packers after the Lombardi years? They were awful for a number of years before the early 90s.
Ответитьcan you do a video about what hapened to the cleveland rams the relocated to la when they literally won the nfl championship
ОтветитьAtlanta flames vid would be good
ОтветитьSomebody I'm related to played for the white Sox, cardinals, and pilots, I also got his 1st homerun ball which was passed down to me, thought that was really cool
ОтветитьAs a 10 year old boy in 1970, Bud Selig broke my heart. I had gone to 7 Pilots games in 1969 and really had taken to Baseball. A better ownership group should have been in place.
ОтветитьI was at the first White Sox game against the Twins. They roped off the warning track to handle the demand for standing room. I was on the field. Bud Selig not only brought MLB back to Milwaukee, he was instrumental in the city building Miller Park, now American Family Field. The dome has been a huge success, as the Brewers are near the top in attendance, even though Milwaukee is the smallest TV market.
ОтветитьCan you do a video on the Braves moving into Milwaukee. Winning a World Series and then moving to Atlanta a few years later.
ОтветитьWhat the pilots are the brewers?
ОтветитьCome on man !! 🧐
What real Baseball fan doesn't know they played only one year in Seattle then became the Milw. Brewers in 1970' !! 🥎
If money 💰 is the biggest reason why any pro sport team leaves? What do you think 🤔 the second reason is?
ОтветитьNo mention of book “Ball Four”?? Surprising. A Home Depot stands at stadium old site with Home Plate right outside the Enter door
ОтветитьNo to relocation to Montreal
Not without a new stadium plan approved
I think other cities deserve an opportunity to have MLB including Salt Lake City, El Paso, Vegas, SanAntonio, Albuquerque, Nashville, Vancouver BC, Calgary AB or Mexico DF, perhaps even San Juan PR
The Seattle Pilots couldn't wait for the Kingdome to be built haha
ОтветитьFun Fact: the only player who played for both the Pilots and Mariners was Diego Segui ( pitcher)
Ответитьits crazy how seilg went from a car salesman who bought the brewers to major league baseball commissioner
ОтветитьSeattle just was not ready for the pilots due to stadium issues they were hastily moved in putting owners on the spot it just would have been better to wait until stadium issues were resolved
ОтветитьMy Mother was from Brooklyn. She never accepted the Los Angeles Dodgers. To her they were "Dem Bums" from Brooklyn. The Giants left NY for San Francisco, but the were replaced with the Mets. Brooklyn didn't get another team, and never will.
ОтветитьA 17-and-a-half minute video? They became the Milwaukee Brewers.
ОтветитьThere are some people here in Wisconsin that legit thought the fail mary and the lost to the seahawks in the NFC championship game a few years later was "karma for us taking the pilots"
ОтветитьI was born in 67, in Milwaukee, so I’ve been a Brewer fan all my life. I didn’t know that the pilots had only been a team for one year prior to going to Milwaukee. Thanks for the info. Now if my Brewers could finally win a World Series…
ОтветитьWhat happened to the Soriano brothers?
ОтветитьI lived in Alaska and the Pilots were the baseball we got in Alaska. The Pilots' games were on the radio on the weekends. I remember being told during spring training the Pilots would remain in Seattle one more year. I was relieved and then out of the blue, it was announced they were moving to Milwaukee. this was heartbreaking.
ОтветитьI always thought the Grunge would be a great name for a team in Seattle
ОтветитьCourtney Love killed them.
ОтветитьI remember the Pilots and can't believe how Seattle lost that team after just one season. That's so screwed up 😮
ОтветитьYou should have told a bit more about how the Mariners were named, and how they never found the person that named them to award them their money
Ответить@All Sports History It’s Crazy That The Pilots Left Seattle After One Season Before The Mariners Came Along Later On BTW U Should Do Another League Video of The WFL in From 1974 to 1975 When The League Folded!
ОтветитьIt's a miracle the Pilots didn't fold
ОтветитьHey Seattle residents & fans: What was it like when the Brewers came back to Seattle to play the Mariners during that 1st season in1977?
ОтветитьThey became the Milwaukee Brewers in 1970
ОтветитьThe Kingdom was a huge waste of money since it only stood for about 20 years.
ОтветитьThe Pilots’ departure gave us one of the best logos in professional sports.
ОтветитьHey Sports Historians! What did you think of the Pilots moving to Milwaukee from Seattle? And what did you think of Bud Selig almost buying the White Sox and moving them instead?
Ответить
