Wallace's birthplace & nationality was wholly Scottish, yet his blood lineage & racial heritage was somewhat mixed, with Brythonic Celt & Germanic Anglo-Saxon predominating, mostly the former. There was probably some Gaelic Irish, ancient Pictish & Norwegian Viking in his genes as well.
Thus was Wallace a bit of an ethnic mongrel, a mixed bag of ancestral hybridization, one whose forebears probably leaned more Celtic & Neolithic yet also boasted Anglo-Saxon Germanic as well (from his mother's side, the Crawfords).
Yet a true, die hard Scot William Wallace most certainly was.

There's a difference btwn BritISH and original Brit.
Indigenous peoples of these isles during very ancient times prior to Rome shared an Atlantean culture and looked much more similar to modern West Africans.
Those Indigenous clans used plaid tartans the same way that West African tribes use kente cloth. They stem from Chaldean times when the now British Isles were called the Chaldees and this is why the Roman knew Scottland as Caledonia.

As a Wallace (and a son of a William Wallace) currently living a few miles from where the historical Wallace was born (whichever place in Ayrshire or Renfrewshire you think this took place) I thank you for explaining more about my family history. It is far more fascinating than the binary British/Scottish nonsense. (None of which has any bearing on politics in Scotland today.)

Amazing video as always! I just have to share...my mom and I met a lovely eldelry gentleman as we walked over the bridge. He motioned us over, then pointed down to the water...there were otters playing! We chatted a bit, and noticed the patches on his blazer. One showed he was at Normandy in WWII. We thanked him for his service and my mom said she was so happy he made it home. One of the highlights of our 2001 trip to Scotland! ❤
