The Asus Rog Xbox will change EVERYTHING for PC gaming handhelds

Pretty sure its not gonna be its own OS, I think its gonna be skin running on top of windows 11. If I were gonna buy the thing I would just put bazzite on it.

No way the Black model is only $800. The Z2 Ai Extreme chip is very similar to the HX370 APU, and mini-PCS and other gaming handhelds with that chip are $1300 or more.

However it’ll have more compatibility and possibly better performance.

This is probably the closest to Jerry's original idea for the legion go S wich u could go the XboxOs and instead of acting like a console experience like SteamOs it IS a console experience and you can switch to windows wich has the bloatware eliminated!

And playstations latest realesed is the ps5 pro... yeah sony just make a dam handheld device and no the portal dosent count as one.

I've just got the Switch 2 in last week's friday and in the same week's sunday XBOX reveals their new handheld made by with ROG ALLY: XBOX ROG ALLY X handheld console what looks surprisilly good, I love therr's XBOX games on it, I hope and know there's have to be Gamepass and about of the launch-game Hollow Knight Silksong's finally coming it's not a dream anymore guys! But about of the price, will it really be $699-$799? I would love to see it's $499 or $599, but dosen't bother me as the Switch 2 owner now! 😅

Id like to point out the cheaper Z2A Rog is NOT using a new processor. It is using the exact same processor from the SteamDeck. AMD just tricked you with their deceptive rebranding names

I like this alot, i could be overdoing it when i say this but i do fear that this is also going to rock the whole indrustry not just gaming but creators, tech companies, preservationist, platforms, modders etc. maybe pressured to pick an OS to support (Linux or Windows). People may need to backup their stuff to. Once i get my first desktop soon i will learn to dual boot linux. Also i would love to seen lenovo stick with Steam os because artist could benfit from that.

I actually like the xbox handheld alot with its ergonomics due to the fact it actually HAS a grip. Biggest problem with rog was if im spending this much on a device i dont wanna worry abt it falling out my hand constantly im ngl

It’s an important ploy to try to lure casual gamers away from SteamOS but I’m not buying it. This ain’t reinventing the wheel. You don’t need training wheels for your tricycle if you already know how to ride a bike. Imma buying that Aya Neo Flip DS S1 if makes it to production. Now that’s a helluva piece of tech. This is like… whatever. It’s to placate kiddies who are too afraid to put their big boy pants on. If I did buy this & if you could shutter the front end & force it into desktop mode. I would place it in desktop mode & leave it there forever. The things you can do in desktop mode if you know what you are doing will easily outperform that closed circuit front end. It will outperform it by a country mile.

It's great that Microsoft is tailoring windows for the handheld experience, but every "issue" with windows on a handheld discussed in the video can be easily fixed with one or two pieces of free software. when my windows handheld boots up, i only see the windows shell for a split second before Playnite's UI shows up, and then i'm a perfectly confortable and customizeable handheld friendly UI to select the game I want to play. Also I don't have any issues putting my device to sleep in the middle of a game, it just works. Maybe that was an issue before and since been resolved? Literally the only piece of jank i'm waiting to see fixed is being able to input my pin code when I start from a cold boot without using the touchscreen, and that's already been demonstrated in the brief preview we've had of this version of Windows

is multiplayer free? or do you still need gamepass for this device for online play?

no one said that it would have a dedicated operating system, doing so would require too much work and would break compatibility with all games, it most likely will be windows with an xbox skin on top to make it feel more like a console

The Steam Deck made Hand Held PCs mainstream and here we are 3 years later with atleast 6 or more Competative Brands, not to mention the Premium Brands like Ayaneo, sure its Xbox Branded and they Managed to Drop RAM usage down to the Same as most Linux Distros, but Xbox's Market Share is Dwarfed by the Market share of PC gamers now. Actually when you account for Global PC Gaming is Larger than Playstion Gaming.
