If you change your feudal contract to get fortification rights and become their steward you get cheaper buildings. I managed to do it in around 60 years.

Just some contructive cirtisism it is a little annoying how you constantly zoom in on yourself especially since it is rather low quality when you do so.

You didn't mention accolades in this playthrough, so not sure if you utilized them, but the Reeve trait gives bonuses to income and there are a couple of others that give huge cuts to army maintenance costs.

Did you spam all the holdings around the rivers with tradeports or just focus on building up Harrenhal and micromanage vassal income?
