First class police arrest?😳
ОтветитьI have compassion with her alcohol addiction, but it was her choice to drink and drive . , she put others in danger when she chose to drive.
ОтветитьIf she was some plain Jane , no one would care. This woman needs to take accountability . You can't use your addiction as an excuse, mam.
ОтветитьUmm when the hell did they start holding you up during dui tests? This is wild. If i had a dui from the same cop, I’d be hella pissed!
ОтветитьI thought it said SHE was 22 years old! I am 42, and I was like “dang! That’s what 22 looks like these days!?” lol 😂
ОтветитьShe made a BIG MISTAKE by getting behind the wheel. She absolutely needed this wake up call and she absolutely should be thanking God that she ONLY lost a job!
Ответить😮wow just seen this video me and my partner was watching random video people need to stop this
ОтветитьWow DWI’s have changed since I got mine 15 years ago.
ОтветитьJust from watching this video, the dash cam and body cam video of the officers and her DWI test, it's only by the grace of God this woman hasn't been involved in a wreck causing fatalities. I would not want this woman as the face of my company, and don't blame the company that fired her.
ОтветитьIts the last we see of Strano after this, if LIBERAL channel 3 lets her go thats very telling....her career is over. She is a monster.
Ответитьsome jobs should fire you if this happens but not all jobs.
Ответитьshe kept saying I’ll do whatever you want me to do. Sounds like she was trying to say I’ll get on my knees to get out of this trouble.
ОтветитьGod, jesus and prayers , are always included when Americans speak, but being so "holy" doesn't seem to work out for them very well, maybe they should pray harder. 🤣🤣 They must think that we all are heathens, here in Europe.
ОтветитьA drunk driver just ran over 2 teens in my city. They are dead and here we are handling these people with kid gloves. Shame...
ОтветитьUber yourself home when out drinking!!!
ОтветитьI think a big part of the issue isnt that there is a drinking problem or addiction problem but that she tried to potentially bribe the officers by constantly asking how she can make it better or make it go away. Secondly, it is also about judgment. Yes, she may have a drinking problem but that isnt an excuse. She couldve called an uber or had a sober ride home.
ОтветитьShe was lucky she didn't kill someone. All those people out there thinking her employer was in the wrong, apparently hasn't lost someone due to a DD.
ОтветитьTalk about entitlement... she’s suing her former employer, but she could be in jail or dead instead.
ОтветитьAnd of course, she is gonna sue them because women are always unaccountable for their mishaps, and its always somebody's else fault !
ОтветитьQuestion-Why?
To- all the unmerciful and self righteous, who have obviously never slipped and fell face first,to all who've never screwed up :
If this news lady has realized the horrible offenses she has committed, if she has admitted openly in honest sorrow for her irresponsible actions by confessing publicly all of her shame, telling everyone,so others who will hear about her mistake, they will learn from her downfall and disgrace, to avoid being where she had caused her own reckless downfall! If this woman and 20 yr employee is in fullvrecognition that its only by the grace of God that her lowly actions didn't cause harm or death to someone innocent!
if she has paid her all her dues and straightened up her unlawful and dangerous ways plus has turned her failures into good public service! A detourance to countless others who might consider drinking and driving ,possibly killing someone.what reason should she not be able to fulfill her job
Elizabeth Vargas was a drunk and she shared her story to help people BEFORE it became a danger to the public. This lady is doing it because she got caught being dangerous. Unfortunate, but it's too damn bad!!
ОтветитьHow the hell you get fired on YOUR DAY OFF! I know you didn't go out that like that! ~ Smokey/ Friday 1995.
Don't worry you're in good company...Craig got fired on his day off too!
It’s called being an adult and having accountability. We wouldn’t be asking if the station was correct by firing her if she killed someone
ОтветитьI still cant get over the fact that she's only 22?!? Its true, alcohol really ages people, huh
ОтветитьSorry, but she could have killed someone!! She acts entitled because of her occupation. I don't feel sorry for her one bit! If she had killed a family with children, I doubt a lot of people would be saying poor Hollie!! Smfh!😡
ОтветитьStigma, my butt. Sobriety does not erase the wrong things that we do. We are responsible for what the body does. A person in true sobriety understands and accepts the consequences of drunken actions. She is no more special than anyone who gets drunk and has the audacity to get behind the wheel, and she has not been sober long enough to teach anyone about anything.
ОтветитьUh, yeah it was your dui that you fired, lady. Your story of recovery would have been great if it was before you crashed your car.
ОтветитьNo sympathy.
Ответить“I wouldn’t lie to you officer, I only had a glass of wine”!!! While she’s over 3 times the legal limit! Why do people in politics, news etc think they can do whatever they want and people have to give them a pass? It really makes me mad! Even the officers treat her different after they find out who she is! Big deal…. A meteorologist!!!🤦♀
ОтветитьDepending on what their policy is but I would say yes she probably needs to be fired and if this video doesn't make people not want to drink and drive I don't know what would LOL number one putting people in danger but the embarrassment my gosh I had to just fast forward to it it was so embarrassing I was having second-hand embarrassment for her through the screen
ОтветитьReckless Actions have CONSEQUNCES
ОтветитьIts got nothing to do with her work, she should of kept her job
ОтветитьMan…how you gonna get fired on your day off? Iykyk 😂
ОтветитьRight after the drunk driving incident Hollie posted a pic of her on her bfs shoulders obviously drunk hanging up Christmas lights and talking about making meatballs acting as if the incident never happened. She was not sorry nor interested in helping anyone else. Hollie is a classic narcissist. Every post she makes on social media is a stupid selfie of herself.
Ответитьthese sobriety tests are bullshit . I couldn’t even do it SOBER . like why do you want me to do all these riddles and tricks when you know I’m drunk sirrrr? what’s the point ?
ОтветитьWhat was she proposing to "do for ya guys" to make things go better...gross
ОтветитьIt wasn’t the addiction. Probably most of your bosses are addicted to something. It was your age, honey. It was your age. Not your fault.
ОтветитьShe got a dui she didn't kill anyone! Im glad she's getting sober unlike the many assholes that think they're perfect they are not
One day at a time does not mean she deserves to lose her job ! Good luck Hollie there's lots of recovering humans behind you , you got this girl !
My husband is an amazing man with twenty five years I still live in fear he'll relapse I try not to show it cause he deserves my support it's not easy he hasn't replaced it with another addiction . Well he put on a few pounds but not too bad !
ОтветитьJustice has been served, couldn’t stand hearing her on air after this.
ОтветитьWhat happens on personal time is no matter to the employer.
Ответитьlove you darling xoxoxoxoxoxo God bless you
ОтветитьThis happened on thanksgiving, on Christmas she was on social media DRUNK taking pics. Then she deleted them all. Drunk drivers are so selfish.
ОтветитьIt's been said that WKYC did not renew her contract, which is different than being fired. It's not about addiction. She did not set the example that the station wanted.
ОтветитьGoing public with chemical addiction is not healthy for the addict. There is a reason AA is called alcoholics anonymous. Addicts who go public are seeking attention and sympathy.
ОтветитьThat cop was so excited about “the fox 8 lady” 😂😂😂
ОтветитьOne thing I will never forget from my ER Days…after a violent, horrible marriage and divorce and becoming a volunteer SA/DV Counselor, as well as experience the stigma and often very offensive comments and behaviors by my colleagues in the ER to addicts undergoing crisis in my ER, (especially women…I fired a nurse for blaming a female SA Victim for her assault, basically saying she invited it by going out for drinks with her friends. We were a college town for heaven’s sakes…😡) I suggested a new policy that our ER staff HAD to attend a minimum of 3 open AA or NA meetings during their 3 month orientation and current staff was required to attend 1 a year as a part of their CE in services. At one of the first meetings I attended, they had a psychiatrist, specializing in addiction, speak on the science and genetics of addiction. He had written a widely read article stating, on average, someone who is arrested has already driven over 10 times highly impaired. It’s extremely rare for a person getting a DUI, for it to be their first time drinking and driving…although with our city being a college town, it was more likely than other areas. At the very least, choosing to drive impaired is a flashing red alarm that there is a potential serious problem.
I completely believe in second chances in these cases. People can and do, recover, stay sober and/or don’t drive impaired and risk the lives of others and themselves.
Also, I have been frequently asked over the years about the outcomes in DUI accidents of the impaired driver and victims, in other vehicles, pedestrians…or their own passengers.
30 years of working in ER’s and on choppers; in the large majority of incidents, I would say upwards of 80%, the impaired driver escapes major injuries. There are many I remember first hand, but the 40yr old man in a tiny sports car, on the interstate, is probably the biggest shock I ever remember. He crossed the median after hitting one car, basically doing a pit, that car flipped and a passenger was thrown and fatally injured. After crossing the median, he was hit by a semi and 2 other vehicles including a large 5th wheel motor home. When we saw his car from the air, they hadn’t even begun extraction yet. No one thought it was survivable-the car was smashed like a soda can, completely unrecognizable. EMS on the ground was busy with 6 other seriously injured patients from the other vehicles. The poor truck driver, whose window had been smashed in by a bumper, had major facial injuries, yet still kept yelling how sorry he was, that he tried to miss him…and he prayed for the driver of the sports car the whole flight to the hospital. We returned for 2 more patients before it was time to return to see if anyone else needed life flight transport. When we got back, there was a “new” patient..an extremely belligerent man, cussing everyone out, refusing to be strapped to a gurney. He was angry about his car, screaming about suing the truck driver as well as EMS because he claimed they purposely took their time trying to get him out. It was the driver of the sports car, and inexplicably, he had only bruises and cuts…and reeked of alcohol. He was also an attorney in town for a reunion. His BA 4 hours after the crash was .31. He…wasn’t a pleasant patient and when he stormed out AMA into the not so loving arms of law enforcement..we didn’t try and convince him otherwise. While that kind of behavior CAN be indicative of a head injury, his vitals were fine and there were no signs of a head injury. 3 lives were lost that night; NONE had been drinking. That was the ONLY case in my career that I was more than happy to testify at. Unfortunately, this was way back in the 80’s and our state didn’t have DUI Manslaughter yet..but they tried to find any and all charges they could against this un-remorseful AH, who continued to blame everyone but himself for that crash. At one point our administration called us in to let us know he was going to try and dig up skeletons on the other victims as well as those of us in EMS and LE. By that time, he’d worn out his welcome in our courthouse. He only got 5 years, but appealed that and was released after 2. His many lawsuits were all thrown out…as far as I know, he never apologized to the families.
Sorry..I wrote out that diatribe for a reason. The person above certainly wasn’t our only belligerent intoxicated patient who caused a fatal MVA and had no remorse…just the biggest stand-out.
The lady in this was remorseful and went into recovery. Thank God no one else was hurt. Being fired after being one who actually did the right thing after her accident?
There’s either something else going on, or SHAME on that station.
Personally, I think it would be a very good and smart idea for her to get a job working with other alcoholics as she herself is because that would really help herself to stay sober and also help others stay sober too. She needs to be in an Alcoholic Anonymous program and have constant support to keep herself sober. She is very fortunate she did kill somebody, innocent victims out there and really, she should not have special treatment and or privilege either, that will only cause resentments too.
I don't believe that news station she worked for should rehire her back either after they fired her because it gives that news station a very poor representation for them as well as for her and viewers will always remember and associate her with what she did, people don't forget. However, if she worked with other alcoholics to help them and herself stay sober that would be a very good way to replace a negative with a positive and keep her sobriety that she really needs.
