i always thought that maybe an intruder really did break in , possibly an employee of john ramsey upset his christmas bonus was not enough, and they captured jonbenet, wrote the ransom note, brought her down to the basement and eventually maybe got angry with her or just figured she wasn't worth it and killed her , or killed her after hearing patsy call 911 since they said they would kill her if they called. but i also think there's a chance the family was involved specifically patsy

Didn’t both the long John’s AND the underwear have dna from the same person? I feel like that means that the dna should be looked into a bit more

Like everyone, i have an opinion. Possibly the housekeeper/associates or work contacts like Westmoreland. No need for window entry/egress, plenty of keys around town, and half the time they didnt bother locking up. What to make of the weird magic marker graffiti on the article featuring John , found in his office?

I don’t get the purpose of the ransom note if her body never left the house. Makes zero sense

Aint no one gonna talk about the fact these guys clearly didn't want to talk about a horrific child murder, yet the gross obsession with this case forced them to do it anyways?

My theory is a little different. Watching this video made me realise a lot. Personally, im a crime freak, meaning that I watch a lot of documentaries of such. One thing that stood out was the fact that the abductors wrote the ransom note in the house with paper and ink from inside. Also, there were no footprints towards the house in the snow. With this, it could be the fact that it snowed after the abductors left, covering up their footprints, or that the abductors were INSIDE the home from the start. My thought is that the brother, Burke Ramsey killed her. A motive is that she got all the family attention and he was at a point, JEALOUS that he didn't get half of the compliments she did. To everyone, she was a hard worker and successful at such a young age while Burke did nothing of such. In the video, it was said that the ransom note had basic spelling mistakes. A 9-year old could easily face these problems and write fluently too. There was also no sign of forced entry and she was alive when she was strangled. Clearly, she was lured into the basement, and she quietly went because she knew her brother and didn't yell or make any noise that alerted her parents. Also, the handwriting was only compared to the father and mother. The FBI never compared the ransom note with Burkes handwriting. Thats about it, and this is my take on the suspects. They probably skipped over Burke as he was young.

The Ramsey's never talk about during the night when she went missing. They talk about the evening before and the day after but they seem to not want to discuss that nite as it's a trigger point. They never mention if they heard anything like noises of an intruder etc. That's the most important time you would be wracking your brains thinking of those crucial hours whilst she was being murdered but they avoid discussing it

Ryan nailed it when he asked “but would you take that risk as a killer?” After Shane said he’s been in some big houses where you wouldn’t be able to hear someone being murdered on the other side of the house.

What killer would be like “yeah this house is huge they probably can’t hear me tip toeing around writing ransom notes and assaulting this child.”

I remember seeing a full on documentary about this, and something that one of the interviewees mentioned was that the brother had violent tendencies as a child so the possibility of him accidentally killing his sister and the family covering for him is sort of likely

Theres no doubt the police totally bungled this investigation,it probably would have been solved if the house and bodys evidence wasnt ruined.Personally i think someone in the family had something to do with it.That ranson note didnt make sense, who asks for 118,000 dollars? The same amount as the husbands bonus.

The fact that the letter mentions the exact amount of a bonus Mr.Ramsey received makes me think it really had to be someone in the family. The letter was lousy and written to point fingers away to someone specific which points fingers back to the family themselves

Theory: Burke hit JonBenet with a flashlight in some fit of rage, Patsy frantically wrote a ransom note to cover this up, this could have altered her handwriting, investigators found some similarities between Patsy’s handwriting and the ransom note’s writer. Patsy strangled JonBenet and raped her using the paintbrush, the paintbrush was also used to strangle JonBenet using a garrote made with it. This is my theory, but some more sketchy information is that the Ramsey family invited family and friends over the day of the 26th. This should have been considered a crime scene by the Boulder Police Department. Patsy was one of the only few that knew John Ramsey’s bonus in his salary for that year. The note was written inside the house using the Ramsey’s material. This could explain my theory of Patsy making the note. The Ramsey’s also usually showed no emotion when discussing the murder of their daughter. Another thing I’ve considered is that the paintbrush was used to molest JonBenet was done by Patsy to stimulate the minds of people to think that this was done by some sort of predator with a sexual motive. The murderer had to have known the house pretty well, the place of entry was a weak spot known by very few people. It was a broken window under a grate on the south exterior of the house. This window was broken months before the crime and was never fixed by the Ramsey family. The suitcase that didn’t belong to the Ramsey’s could have been borrowed to stage the scene as well. The Ramsey family was planning to go to Michigan the following day, they could have used this trip to borrow the suitcase to stage it in the crime. This is just a theory gathered by all the evidence I have received from the videos and the recent Netflix documentary on it.

am i misremembering or was this video longer before? i thought there was a whole segment on how the police bungled the case by not securing the scene and therefore contaminating the evidence/compromising the crime scene?

and wasnt there more speculation about the brother writing the note? I've seen a lot of Buzzfeed Unsolved so I could be mixing up cases but i swear this episode was much longer.
