One of the few times i agree with a top list. Got all of them and they are phenomenal.
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьNo Alan Parson'?
ОтветитьThank you for this basic bitch list!
ОтветитьTotally agree😎
ОтветитьI saw Pink Floyd in the background and expected some absolutely picks. Out of your 5, I think you nailed it, in someone else's world. Not one would be in my entertainment room. I'm refraining from making my recommendations for the simple reason of the universe division. I'll have to agree with your opening Statement, there will be disagreement on your selected 5, and with that, we go our different paths.
Ответить100% agree of JathP. I first heard this way back in the 80's when we still had brick and mortar audio stores. They used this to demo. Bought the album, and my first pair of Maggies. Was my top pick as well. Plus....the music is damn good. Dudes can play. I love the opening track, 'Limehouse Blues'. They do a number of false endings that has the audience cracking up. Lot of fun.
ОтветитьFor a guy who thinks he doesn't love jazz, he sure seems to love jazz.
ОтветитьAm I listening to a guy in such an uncool cap ?
ОтветитьThis whole concept is literally THE recipe for failure. Take something highly subjective and announce a top five - then head straight to the comments! ...I almost forget to add...no Ella Fitzgerald? TOTAL FAILURE.
ОтветитьI think you like Jazz
ОтветитьOh my, Jazz at the pawn shop....How in the world is this sound coming from my speakers.. By God, what a record! Awesome, thank you.
Ответитьones fart smells like roses to themselves
ОтветитьFiona Apple "Tidal" VMP press, followed by "Time Out".
Ответитьno steely dan?
ОтветитьI'll take a listen but o holy night by Leontyne Price will be hard to beat. I put it on when I have a tear ducts that need to be emptied.
ОтветитьFrom my humble opinion the best sounding album is the collaboration of John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman.
ОтветитьThe dynamic range of Vinyl is technically inferior to CD. So a top quality CD will always be superior to a top quality vinyl.
ОтветитьFrom the rock side of things.
Rush Moving Pictures
Billy Idol White Wedding
ZZTop anything after 1990
Metallica Kill Em’ All
The Who Who’s Next
Great picks, thanks! If you get a chance, check out Three Blind Mice lp's...one of the audiophile favs is Tyoshi Yamamoto trio -Midnight Sugar but many others great too! Cheers!
Ответитьfukk sake hurry up. you lost me with the fukkin ad bye
ОтветитьRon - so glad you don’t like jazz - great recommendations
ОтветитьFunny dude good picks thanks
ОтветитьI would like to see literally all MQA releases receive some special vinyl versions
ОтветитьDid i miss something? He said he's not into jazz but 3 of 5 records are jazz albums. LOL
ОтветитьCantate Domino is ridiculously good. It uses every bit of my system. It's so delicate. Amazing stuff.
ОтветитьThanks for bringing such knowledge! ❤❤❤ This is definitely the best audio ever!
ОтветитьThelma Huston with Pressure Cooker by Sheffield Labs
ОтветитьDoeas anyone know Stockfish Records? I can hardly find anything comparable.
ОтветитьGreat picks! I take 4 out of 5 🤩 I am just not a fan of organ and chors or opera. So instead of Cantate I would pick VSQ PERFORMS LADY GAGA with POKER FACE being first in it. I just like it.
ОтветитьJazz at the pawn shop is the most overrated recording I've ever heard. It's fine. No better than that. The sound stage is all over the place. some of it almost sounds mono, other songs sound like the Vibes ate wide enough to drive a truck though. It is so oversaturated in the mid range that it often overmodulates (some vibe hits literally distort in the recording). Its a total let down.
ОтветитьI haven’t heard two of them!!
Satchmo or Domino, can’t wait to hear them!
Thank you
Classical had, "Living Presence". Jazz had, Doctored for super stereo.
Ответитьit will "wreck yu the way you have not been wrecked"! sounds like homo moment(**)!
ОтветитьAll "nice", top 500 maybe, but top 5?
ОтветитьNo music?
Ответить"Time" by Pink Floyd; (TELARC) E. Power Biggs "Toccata & Fugue"; "School" by Supertramp; "Everybody Hurts" by REM; "Hey Nineteen" -- Steely Dan; "Kiss" by Prince; "Take Five" by the Dave Brubeck Quartet; "Moon Dawg" (mono remastered) Beach Boys; "Walk on the Wild Side" by Lou Reed; "Little Wing" Jimi Hendrix; "A Horse with No Name "America; Harry James and his Orchestra, "the King James Version (Seffield Labs); Dave Grusin, "Discovered Again "; "And Then......" by David Gilmore and the entire album he released in 1978, "Fresh Aire" 1,2,3,4,5,6, etc. and the Christmas albums; Leonid and Friends "September" "Saturday in the Park" and their complete playlist; Jay Sekelow Band (one of Donald's Trump's lawyers) "Mother Freedom" and "Where I Stand"................ I could go on all night.
ОтветитьI suggest Kansas City OST. specifically track 7 Yeah, Man. also the final track Solitude (reprise)
ОтветитьAja.
ОтветитьGreat selection. Have you tried Alison Krauss + Union Station Live 2002? It sounds great too.
ОтветитьI have 3 of the 5. Davis Brubeck and Pawnshop.
ОтветитьThe best sounding KIND OF BLUE is the version originally mixed and mastered directly from the 3 track multitrack tapes for Classic Records, reissued on Analogue Productions, both the 33 1/3 and the 45. Bernie Grundman did the mix and mastering, with Michael Hobson as the Reissue Producer (as then owner of Classic Records). It's pure magic.
KIND OF BLUE and TIME OUT were both originally engineered by the great Fred Plaut at Columbia 30th Street Studios in NYC. He is among the greatest engineers to ever turn a knob and deserves gratitude for his extraordinary talents he shared though his work.
Pretty good pics
ОтветитьWish david Bowie albums were good, unfortunately there very poor recordings 😢
ОтветитьAm I the only person here that listens to way different music at home, than I do at work?
ОтветитьEvery week there's a new Miles Davis release. If he was caught played while taking a sh*t they would release a 45rpm gatefold on 180 vinyl.
