Do you understand Marantha Prayer Plants? What are your care secrets for happy and healthy Marantha? Share for others in the comments.
Marantha Prayer Plants can be a challenge to keep happy. These are two different types I have on the same shelf with the same amount of light and I think I have given the same amount of water since I only water when the leaves curl. The one on the right is a Rabbit Foot Marantha is super full and happy but the red one on the left seems to hate me. The only thing I did differently is I watered the red leaf one from the top instead of from the bottom like I typically suggest. So, that is what I think I did wrong but I am not quite sure which is often the case.
I appreciate that this plant communicates with me and let’s me know when it is unhappy but the challenge can be identifying why it is unhappy which is why the audio says “I understand nothing.” I often feel that way. Being a plant parent means learning from experience and mistakes.
To recover this plant, I placed in a nice sunny window with sun on the crown or top of the plant hoping it will dry out the excess water on the top of the soil. Hopefully the leaves will begin to open up and unravel instead of continuing to demonstrate their dramatic pout!
This is one of my favorite types of plants because they are so expressive: they move with the light and response dramatically to proper and improper care which helps me to learn and grow. How do you feel about this plant?
