Shadow the Hedgehog is quite the game, but turns out there is a way to play it that's pretty fun! After 100%ing the game (or using a 100% save file which is what I do), a new mode Unlocks.

Expert Mode is hardly "Expert", with a few changes here or there in some stages that provide an extra challenge. The main benefit is that Shadow goes through all of the stages in the game in a linear order with a streamlined objective. Most stages are just get to the goal ring, but some of the more linear objectives were also streamlined in a cheeky way for this mode.

With the not very fun missions and story of the game removed, what's left is a pretty darn fun 3D Sonic game with some very interesting movement tech! Enjoy.
