The Israeli-Palestinian film No Other Land won the Oscar for Best Documentary at the 96th Academy Awards, with its filmmakers delivering an impassioned plea for an end to the suffering of Palestinians.
In their acceptance speech, Palestinian co-director Basel Adra shared his hope that his newborn daughter would not have to grow up fearing violence, while Israeli co-director Yuval Abraham highlighted the inequality between them under Israeli law.
The film, which explores life under Israeli occupation, won against Porcelain War, Sugarcane, Black Box Diaries and Soundtrack to a Coup d’État.
