BC wildfires: How did the Kelowna fire spread so quickly?

A state of emergency has been declared in Kelowna, B.C., over a small wildfire near the city exploding in size, putting thousands of people at risk and triggering mass evacuation orders and alerts.

Farah Nasser explains how the situation spiraled out of control so quickly, then speaks with West Kelowna Fire and Rescue Chief Jason Brolund about the long night for emergency crews battling flames.

"Awe-inspiring" and "gut-wrenching" were words Chief Brolund used when describing what he saw and how the fires behaved when surveying the initial damage in Kelowna.
